Antonio "Tony" Carpinelli
1948 - 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Sault Area Hospital, surrounded by family while listening to his favourite Italian music. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Yolanda, and cherished father of Christopher (Toni), Joanna (Donald), and Gregory (Shauna). Loving Nonno of Nathaniel, Bennett, Justina, Gemma, Roman, and Kolton.

Tony was the precious son of the late Lucio and the late Giovanna Carpinelli, and dear son-in-law of the late Natale and the late Carmela Spadafora. He was also the brother of Carmen (Dora) and brother-in-law of Maria Coccimiglio (late Gino), Tony Spadafora (Rosetta), and Luigi Spadafora (Clara). Devoted Zio to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Italy on July 9, 1948, Tony immigrated to Canada in December 1967. He was a masterful carpenter whose reputation for honesty, passion, pride, and attention to detail was legendary. His greatest energy, however, was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, with whom he cherished every moment.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Tony’s medical team, with special gratitude to Dr. Jarrett and the staff of 3B & 3C at the SAH. In keeping with Tony’s wishes, a private family service has been held. Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
