Anne Frances McEachen Cavanaugh

April 13, 1954 – March 29, 2025

Anne Frances McEachen (Cavanaugh), born on April 13, 1954, to the late Bernard and Helena Cavanaugh passed on peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Saturday, March 29th, 2025, with the love and comfort of family at her side and the exceptional care of staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice located in Sarnia, Ontario.

Loving wife to the late Shayne McEachen (2018), Mother of Kimberly (David), Cullen, and Kelly (Archie). Big Sister to Deb Cavanaugh (Tim), Glenn Cavanaugh (Chantal), Kevin Cavanaugh and Brad Cavanaugh. Predeceased by her brother Michael Cavanaugh (Wendy), and sister Sherry Cavanaugh. Cherished Nana of Kayla, Erienne, Katie, Aly, Liam, Briagh, Blake, Grace, and Rhett, and great-grandchildren, she had yet to meet. Remembered and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Annie, a country girl at heart, enjoyed the solitude of country living, gardening, and had a deep connection with animals. She loved exploring the culinary world and found pleasure in entertaining family and friends while preparing her delicious recipes. Anne devoted her time to caretaking of the elderly and became an entrepreneur, founding the home-away-from-home retirement establishment, “Heather Brook Manor,” in Tweed, Ontario.

Anne adored her family and especially cherished every moment spent with her Grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Private interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.

Special thanks to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Dr. Evan Lilly, Dr. Julie Lebert, Bluewater Health Palliative and Oncology Teams, and Kayla at Care Partners, for all their exceptional care and support.
