In Loving Memory
Maurice Chartrand, son of Paul and Ila, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71. Maurice was the youngest of three children and was predeceased by his two sisters, Lorraine Raphael and Paulette Chartrand, as well as his beloved wife, Lynn, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage.
Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Chrissy and son-in-law Bill. His cherished granddaughter, Aliesha, and extended family—Michael, Mackenzie, and Rileigh—along with numerous great-grandchildren, will forever hold him in their hearts. He will be deeply missed by his Aunt Georgette, nieces, nephews, cousins, his dear companion Darlene Costante, and many family members and friends.
Born in Peterborough, Maurice was raised Catholic and later moved to Oshawa as a young boy. He attended Eastdale Collegiate and graduated in 1972. He later began his career at General Motors, where he worked for 31 years before retiring as a supervisor from the Chassis Plant.
Maurice found joy in spending quality time with family and friends, fishing, traveling, and sharing his love of history and classic cars. His kindness, strength, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A special thank you to his companion Darlene, his extended granddaughter Brenna, his daughter Chrissy, son-in-law Bill, and friends Rob and John, along with all the medical personnel who provided care and support during his time of need.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maurice’s name to Princess Margaret Hospital or a charity of your choice.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.
