Ugo Chiodo
1937 – 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ugo Chiodo, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left us on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 87. Born in Scigliano, Italy, Ugo’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Ugo was the loving husband of Faustina Chiodo for over 62 years, a marriage built on mutual respect, affection, and shared values. He was a proud father to his two sons, Gabriel Chiodo, married to Pauline, and Sandy Chiodo, married to Dina. Ugo’s family was his greatest joy, and his strength and support shaped the lives of his children and their families.
Ugo was also a proud and devoted grandfather to Patricia, Mario, Claudia, Lucas, and Julia, who brought him immense pride and happiness. Fond memories of sitting around the dinner table, enjoying his detailed and hilarious stories over a plate of pasta and a glass of vino (or a Coors Light for special occasions), will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A proud Italian, Ugo carried the traditions of his heritage throughout his life. His strong sense of family, love of culture, and work ethic shaped his children and grandchildren, ensuring his values endure for generations. Ugo was known for his generosity, humor, and dedication to loved ones.
Ugo was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. He excelled at 10-pin bowling and bocce, and he took up golf at 65, quickly becoming a natural. He and Faustina enjoyed 26 winters at their condo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, making memories with friends and family.
Ugo is survived by his loving wife, Faustina; his sons Gabriel (Pauline) and Sandy (Dina); his grandchildren Patricia (Ryan), Mario (Nicole), Claudia (Roberto), Lucas (Nicolle), and Julia (Niko); and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
