William Michael Chisholm

March 14, 1938 - March 25, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William “Bill” Michael Chisholm, who passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Bill moved to Ajax at the age of 14. At 16, he met the love of his life, Doreen Price, and the two were married for 54 years until her passing in 2013. Together, they raised two children in Whitby, and Bill worked as a cement finisher before transitioning to a job at Sandra Tea & Coffee in Ajax, where he worked his way up to Shipping Manager. Bill and Doreen retired in 1999 and moved to Prince Edward County, where they enjoyed the peace and quiet of Pleasant Bay, along with visits from their children and grandchildren. They also spent many winters in Panama City Beach, Florida, where they made lasting memories with friends and enjoyed shuffleboard and social gatherings.

Bill was a kind and funny man who made lasting impressions on all who met him. He was known for his love of sports, especially hockey and golf, and he continued to play shuffleboard into his eighties. Bill was also active in his children’s lives, coaching lacrosse teams, umpiring softball games, and attending Girl Guide ceremonies as the only male in attendance in 1971. He enjoyed many hobbies, including camping, reading, word search puzzles, and listening to Glen Campbell's music. Bill was always there for others, whether it was building extensions for family members or helping neighbors with their driveways. Above all, Bill cherished his family and loved having them all together.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Lynda (Brian), son Michael (Diane), grandchildren Ryland, Romy, Laura, and Carly, and great-grandchildren Noemi, Adeline, and Walker.

As per Bill’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held on May 24 at Brougham Cemetery, where Bill will be reunited with his beloved wife Doreen.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Trenton Memorial Hospital, as well as the compassionate staff at Ed’s House Hospice in Cobourg.
