Cyril (Cy) Vinyl Clark
September 30, 1941 – March 14, 2025
After a lengthy illness, Cy passed away at Lakeridge Health (Oshawa), surrounded by his family and the love of his life, Lois.
Born on September 30, 1941, in Moose Mountain, New Brunswick, Cy was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Clark (Demerchant), eight of his ten siblings, and his son, Dan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lois Ruff, and his children Karen, Laurie, Candice (James), Angie (Rod), Tricia, and Tim (Cindy). He was a cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren and great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members whom he loved dearly.
Cy worked various jobs throughout his life, from his early years in Hartland to Calgary and Oshawa. From construction to paving, he ultimately spent over 20 years at Home Depot in South Whitby, where his coworkers became like family.
He was known for his storytelling—both real and exaggerated—depending on his audience. To his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even many neighborhood children, he was affectionately known as "Papa." He found joy in playing the guitar, singing, gambling, and spending time with people. His happiest moments were always with family and friends.
In his final years, his health declined, but the compassionate nurses, doctors, and staff on C Wing, 6th Floor, helped make his last days more comfortable. His passing leaves a deep void in many lives, but he would want to be remembered with a smile as someone who cared deeply.
