Allan is survived by his wife Betty (née Moore) of 57 years and their three children, Doug (Michelle), Julie (Eric) of Sarnia, and Eric of Toronto. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren.

The oldest of eight children, Allan was predeceased by his sister Marilyn (2012) and brothers Bob (2019) and Jim (2020). He is survived by siblings Barb of Es, Ted (Gayle) of Tiny, Vivian (Mike) of Chillicothe, OH, and Virginia of Forest.

Beginning his career as a teacher and then Vice Principal at Rosedale Public School, Allan worked at numerous schools within Lambton County before finishing his career as a Superintendent. A lifelong lover of music, Allan sang in a community choir for 25 years and later volunteered with the Lambton Youth Choir. Allan loved swimming and was a longtime member of the YMCA, where he also volunteered with the Celebration of Youth program for many years.

A funeral service and reception will be held at D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 Victoria Street North, Sarnia, on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
