CRAWFORD, Alexander Mitchell Crawford - It is with great sadness that we share the news of the peaceful passing of Alexander Mitchell Crawford at the age of 79.

He departed on July 8, 2024, at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, surrounded by his loving family.

Alexander will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife, Maggie, his children Margaret (Stephen), Sandy, Tracy (Scott) and Robert.

He was a devoted grandfather to Kaitlyn, Mitchell, Anaya, Isla, Emily, Johnathan, Allison, Shyeanne, Hannah and Brody, and a proud great-grandfather to Austa and Noretta.

He was a cherished brother to Andrew, twin Allan and Sister Liz, and predeceased by sister Ursala.

Additionally, he will be dearly missed by his former wife, Irene. Alexander was born in Scotland and made Canada his home in 1979. He dedicated 30 years of his life as a Millwright for General Motors, a source of great pride for him.

He was a proud member of the Masons and Eastern Star-Whitby Chapter as well as the proud member of the CAW union. He was a dedicated member of The Peterborough Presbyterian Church. He treasured his time with family and friends and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service to honor his life will take place at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King street west on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, followed by a Reception in the Heritage Room from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
