Ralph Gerard Ste. Croix
January 14, 1932 - February 28, 2025
Ralph Ste. Croix passed away peacefully at Napanee General Hospital on February 28, 2025, at the age of 93.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of 69 years, and their children Larry (Nancy), Shelley (Fred), and Jamey (Lori).
He was a proud grandfather to Mike, Robert (Mary), Kayla, Dominique (Cody), Wayne (Melissa), Shannon (Matt),
and great-grandfather to 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Kathleen, his brothers James, Harris, and Stanford, and his son, Kerry.
Born and raised in Barachois, Quebec, Ralph left at a young age to pursue work in Ontario.
He worked in Geraldton’s logging industry, later joining the Hoisting Engineers.
In 1969, he transitioned to the Boilermakers, helping build numerous power plants across Ontario and working in Alberta and the USA.
Ralph enjoyed a long 31-year retirement on his farm in Napanee, raising horses.
Whether hitching his horses to a wagon, sleigh, or pulling logs, he was happiest when working with them.
Over a few drinks, he loved sharing endless stories about his upbringing in Barachois, which remained dear to him.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters Tena and Audrey,
and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wartman Funeral Homes in Eastern Ontario.
A private service will take place at a later date.
In memory of Ralph, donations may be made to the SPCA – Lennox and Addington Animal Care Shelter or Morningstar Mission.
