Ross Davidson

August 4, 1935 - November 29, 2024

Ross Edwin Davidson passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the London Health Science Centre – University Hospital on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Amabel Township on August 4, 1935, Ross lived a full and meaningful life.

Beloved husband of Elsie Davidson (née Taylor) of Tara, Ontario, for 67 wonderful years. Loving father to Kim Hill (Andrew) and Steven Davidson (Kerri Sutherland), and father-in-law to Wayne Dillon. Cherished grandfather of Shawn (Shannon), Kayley (Kenrick), Mitch (Dessana), Duncan (Layluma), Michael, Matthew, and Callum (Sydney), and proud great-grandfather of Aiden, Isla, Dalanie, Dalila, Hunter, and Riley.

Ross is survived by his siblings Gerald (Jean), Betty McKessock (Bob), Merv, and Wayne (Bonnie Jean), as well as sister-in-law Joyce Taylor. He was predeceased by his parents Melvin and Mona Davidson, his daughter Nancy Anne Dillon, his brothers-in-law Paul Fitter and Arden Garrity, and his sister-in-law Fern Davidson.

Ross found immense joy in restoring antique cars, tractors, and clocks, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to repair anything for anyone. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #383 in Tara and the Bluewater Car Club. Ross will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his community, and his love for fishing trips in his younger years.

A funeral service to celebrate Ross’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. West, Owen Sound, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery in the spring.
