Sheila Davis

December 19, 2024

Davis (née Gurr), Sheila. Released from her emotional and physical battle with Parkinson’s Disease on December 19, 2024.
Reunited with her best friend, globe-trotting buddy, devoted caretaker, and husband Andy.

Sheila is the definition of a warrior; smart, sassy, and strong-willed, she continued to work full-time through cancer treatments and Parkinson’s until retirement,
never allowing her medical conditions to define her and always carrying on with life as best she could, enjoying travel and family to the fullest.

She leaves behind her loving daughter Sara, devoted son-in-law Chris Potts, and cherished grandchildren Ayla and Aiden Potts.
We will always carry you in our hearts and treasure the wonderful memories you created with us.

Sheila also leaves behind her loving brothers and sisters Jim, John, Bob, Bill, Tom, Lynn, Lee, Ron, Cathy, Ted, and their spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Billy and Dilly (Maureen) provided enormous support and love for our family during the most trying time of our lives, taking time from their own family to come and stay in Ottawa
for weeks at a time, cooking meals, cleaning, providing taxi service, and supporting us through difficult appointments.

Special thanks to dear friends Ronette, Ann, Diane, and Gilles for your unconditional love and support.
A very special thank you to Kevin P. of The Ottawa Hospital for helping us navigate the healthcare system over the last eighteen months and ensuring our family was treated like loved ones.
Your support and care have been invaluable to our family.

My paddle’s keen and bright, flashing like silver, follow the wild goose flight, dip dip and swing.
