Lillian Patricia Davison

December 24, 1930 - December 21, 2024

On December 21st, 2024, the matriarch of our family and creator of the best and runniest butter tarts in the world, Lillian Patricia Davison (Powell), passed away just 3 days short of her 94th birthday. Wife, mother of four, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of twelve, she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Mom was born to Les and Ella Powell on December 24, 1930, in Port Dover. As a 2 lb. preemie born at home, she came out fighting and left us the same way. Before her marriage, she worked at the local Dominion store in Port Dover. On August 9th, 1950, she married her childhood sweetheart, Jack (Scotty) Davison, and together they raised two sons, Jim (Jane) and Jack (Sue), and two daughters, Pat (Roman) and Nancy.

Throughout her life, Lillian made a home in several Ontario towns and cities, including Port Dover, Peterborough, Orillia, Tillsonburg, Islington, Goderich, and Mississauga. She was an avid bowler with several trophies to her name, a dedicated Blue Jays fan, and a passionate gardener. Her handmade knitting and crochet creations remain treasures cherished by her family and friends.

Lillian's love and care for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were unparalleled. She took immense pride in their activities and milestones, maintaining a detailed birthday list and always lending a helping hand. Her unwavering support and fierce protection of her loved ones will forever be remembered.

Many thanks to the staff of Credit Valley Hospital for their wonderful care and support. Mom has been cremated (Turner & Porter, Mississauga) and will be laid to rest with Dad in a joint service later this spring. The date will be determined.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Turner & Porter Funeral Directors.
