OUGH, Douglas Frederick Ough - It is with heavy hearts the family of Douglas Frederick Ough announce his passing on Friday, January 5, 2024, in his 81st year, after a short illness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (nee Doran), and children, Douglas (Monique) and Kathy (Brad).
He will be fondly remembered by his grandsons, Adrian and Nicky, whom he loved very much.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Edna; and sister, Carole Johnson.
He will always be remembered by his brothers-in-law, Pat (Ernestine) and Frank (Gertie); his dear cousin, JP Morris; nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
Doug was a true storyteller who always enjoyed being with and talking to people. He always entertained us with stories of meeting mom, driving truck, and growing up in Malton.
Doug's greatest passion was for hockey, which he played, coached, and was Malton Hockey President (1988-1990).
But Doug's true love was for Rice Lake, where he spent his summers as a young boy right up to this past summer, and he enjoyed his retired years at his lakefront home. Every chance he got he wanted to be at the lake that gave him so much joy, peace and happiness.
Dad, you will always be in our hearts and memories, and we will never forget the story of your life.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Glendale Funeral Home, 1810 Albion Road, Etobicoke, on Sunday, January 28th, at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Reception to follow after the Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice in Doug's memory.
