GLAISTER, Dr. Pamela Dawn - September 24, 1940 – December 17, 2020
With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Pamela at Toronto General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Adelaide, Australia, daughter of Vernon Steed and Audrey (Hayward) Steed and sister of Anne Mack.
Beloved wife for 50 years to Joseph Glaister (predeceased 2016); loving mother to Ian, Catherine (Jason), and Jean (Shawn) and cherished grandmother to Susannah and Theo Steil.
In 1962 Pamela set sail from Australia to Canada to embark on her doctoral studies in microbiology at the University of Western Ontario.
There she met and married Joseph; and, after completing their respective degrees, the two then settled in Toronto.
Throughout the years of balancing career and family and into retirement Pamela pursued her interests in music, tennis, and travel. With an active mind and loving heart, she enriched the lives of those around her, and she will be dearly missed.
