Ianthe was born on September 9, 1961, in Ernakulam Cochin, India. She grew up in a close-knit family, sharing a special bond with her siblings. With her father’s encouragement, Ianthe earned her Master’s in English Literature and continued on to complete her Bachelor of Education. She taught in India for five years before immigrating to Canada to build a wonderful life alongside her husband.
Ianthe had a fulfilling career as a high school English teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, where she taught for 30 years. Known for her kindness and thoughtfulness, Ianthe built strong relationships with her colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends. In the classroom, she made it a priority to truly get to know each of her students, approaching every interaction with compassion as if they were her own children.
After retiring, Ianthe dedicated her time to the Guardian Angels Parish, where she became an active member of the Rosary Apostolate and the Sacramental Preparation team. Her unwavering faith brought her strength and solace until the very end.
Ianthe will forever be dearly missed by her husband, Eugene; her daughter, Zephra; and her son, Zoel, and his fiancée, Nicole. She is survived by her devoted mother, Beryl; her siblings Stephen (Angela), Ashley (Molly), and Valerie, and their families. She is now reunited with her father, Percival, in heaven, finding eternal peace by his side.
