DUNN, Mary Elizabeth Dunn
January 18, 1931 - January 21, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Dunn (née Morgan) on January 21, 2025, at the age of 94. Born January 18, 1931, in Guelph, Ontario, Mary lived her life with curiosity, energy, and wisdom.
A dedicated healthcare professional, she completed her nursing training at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and practiced in Sudbury, where she met her beloved husband Don “Red” Dunn and started her family.
Mary was known in her community in Lively, Ontario, for her volunteer activities and generous spirit. She created a warm and welcoming family environment and forged lifelong friendships wherever she went. She treasured time spent with family and friends, and her competitive spirit brought laughter and joy to those around her. Her home was known for its open-door policy. Friends and family cherished receiving one of her beautiful pressed flower bookmarks and cards. Her humour and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Don “Red” Dunn. She will be missed by her brother, Dr. Donald Morgan (Christine); son Eric Dunn (Erica); grandchildren Brendan Dunn (Justine), great granddaughter Adelaide, grandson Kyle Dunn (Alexandria); son Philip Dunn (Susan), grandchildren Margaret and Max; and daughter Heather Dunn (Chethan).
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff at the Ajax Pickering Hospital, east wing, third floor, for their compassionate care.
Those wishing to make a donation, in lieu of flowers, may consider contributing to Canadian Blood Services, Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
