Peacefully passed away with his family by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Audrey. Loving father of Paul (Karen), Ingrid (Duncan), Herman, and Arnold. Proud Opa of Kyle, Allan, John, Krystle, Carissa, Shayna, Lilja, Jorja, Oriana, and Brylee and great Opa of sixteen.
Jacob was one of the original gardeners and landscapers at the Metro Toronto Zoo, where he dedicated 24 years of service. A faithful member of Hebron Christian Reformed Church for over 60 years, he embodied community spirit and devotion. In retirement, he found joy and peace at Pleasant Bay Bible Camp, often spotted on his tractor tending to the grounds. He especially cherished family gatherings and shared meals with his loved ones.
As per the family’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gate 3:16, a cause close to Jacob’s heart.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeff Murphy (Murph) who was born and raised in Bancroft Ontario. Jeff was a 40 year employee of Gerdau (Lasco). He will be dearly missed by his spouse Joanne Duncan and Stepson Andrew Valks (Erika), his Brother Bill Murphy (Lori), his Sister Lori O'Brien (Stewart) and his Niece Mikala O'Brien he was always so proud of. He will always be remembered for his love of fishing, hockey, darts and strumming on his guitar on the deck at the trailer or around the campfire with friends. Raymond Morton Atkinson passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, on April 7, 2025.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, Joyce, his daughter Susan Sedlak, son-in-law Bob, and grandson Ben; as well as his son Peter, daughter-in-law Michelle, and grandchildren Sarah and Taylor.
Born in England in 1935, Ray migrated to Canada in 1953. He and Joyce married in Brantford, Ontario in 1959 and built a life together in Toronto. Ray enjoyed a successful 40-year career at CIBC, followed by meaningful work managing a non-profit housing development founded by his home church until his retirement at age 65. He and Joyce later built their retirement home in Bowmanville, Ontario.
A man of deep faith and community spirit, Ray served faithfully as a church warden, lay reader, and member of several church and community boards. He believed strongly that “to whom much is given, much is expected,” and lived this philosophy daily.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his wisdom, sense of humour, generosity, and zest for life. He also deeply enjoyed books, theatre, and travel. Ray touched many lives and will be profoundly missed.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville, ON L1C 2Z8.

Daryl Knowles passed away on March 13, 2025. He was predeceased by his father, Rodney Knowles.
Born on June 1, 1978, to parents Rodney and Patricia Knowles, Daryl is lovingly remembered by his mother Patricia, sister Jessica Knowles, and his two sons, Tyler and Mathew Parrott.
Daryl had a wonderful, witty sense of humour and brought light and laughter to all those who knew him. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be truly missed.

Passed away peacefully after a short illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in his 83rd year.
Survived by his loving wife Ann, daughters Sarah (Richard), Valerie (James), and Kathryn (Ben), and granddaughters Eve, Everleigh, and Florence. Robert was the last surviving sibling of six children of Robert and Annie.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland on February 10, 1943, Robert and Ann met in a Toronto pub in the early 70s after both had relocated to Canada. They were married in May 1976 and raised their three daughters in Scarborough, where they lived for over 40 years.
Robert was an avid golfer, taking numerous golf trips and participating in two golf leagues. He was a proud member of UA Local 46 for over 55 years and served as editor of their magazine, Tradewind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Canada. For those residing in the UK, donations to Macmillan Cancer Support or The Alzheimer’s Society are appreciated.
