FRENETTE, Ken Frenette – Obituary

 

FRENETTE, Ken  – Longtime resident of Bathurst NB – residing in Bowmanville, ON since 2001.

Passed away peacefully in Bowmanville on July 8, 2017 at the age of 85 with family at his side.

Passionate contributor and participant in both minor hockey and baseball in Bathurst. Founder and member of the Bathurst Sports Hall of Fame. Ken enjoyed golf and bowling in his spare time.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Bowmanville Older Adult Association (BOAA). His professional life started with Bathurst Consolidated Paper Mill where he then transitioned to working in the Provincial Courts for approximately 25 years while being a city councilor for 16 years.

Ken also served as the Mayor of Bathurst for 4 years. During his time working with Bathurst City Council Ken will always be remembered as the person that would listen to the constituents and champion their cause.

He was a loving husband to the late Bette for 59 years. Dear father to Reneé (Andrew) and André. Grandfather to Jeremy, Oliver, Dane and Aaron. Brother to Carmen (Bob) Legacy.

At Ken’s request cremation has taken place with a private family interment.

MACKLIN, Robert Macklin – Obituary

 

MACKLIN, Robert  - On July 7, 2017, Bob died peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, at the age of 77, surrounded by loved ones.

Survived by Sandra, his beloved wife of 55 years.

Loving father of John (Karen), Anita (Randy) and Robin (Jim).

 

Will be greatly missed by grandchildren Liam, Luke, Jacob and Maddie and sisters-in-law Cathy and Mickey (Lee).

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at the Wheelhouse in Wilmot Creek, Friday July 14th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donations to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research would be appreciated.

TOMLINS, Mark Edward  - (Boston Bruins' #1 Fan)

After a long, courageous battle with cancer, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the age of 54.

Predeceased by parents Edward and Doris Tomlins.

Generous and loving brother of Carole Ann (John), Sandra (Bob), Debra (Jim), Penny, Tammy (Michael), Stacey (Joanne), Sherri, and predeceased by Linda. Mark will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A private family service will take place.

McGIBBON, Roy Davidson McGibbon – Obituary

 

McGIBBON, Roy Davidson  - At Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, at the age of 94, on July 7, 2017.

Served in the Canadian Navy in WWII, then following the war joined the Toronto Fire Department. Retired from the fire department after a 39-year career, retiring as District Chief.

He enjoyed fishing, golf and tennis.

Survived by his loving wife Madeline, his daughter Patricia (Jim) Tucker, daughter-in-law Nancy McGibbon and seven grandchildren Mark ("Pina"), Karen (James), Christie (Brian), Jeff, Brad (Carol), Jennifer, Mike and great-granddaughter Olivia.

 

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his former wife Marjorie, son John, sister Jean Woodhouse, brothers Jim, George, Frank and Donald.

Family and friends will be received at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton, on Tuesday, July 11th from 2 to 4 p.m.

MILLER, Robert Stephen 'Steve'  - It is with broken hearts that the family announces Steve’s peaceful passing at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the age of 58, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Beloved husband and best friend of Cyndi.

Loving and devoted father of Jordan (Sarah) and Nicolle (Patrick). Cherished and proud Grampy of Quinn, Logan, Courtney, Wesley and Jaden.

Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday July 6, 2017, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 50.

Beloved husband of Pauline (nee Weidmark).

Loving father of Sue-Ann (Dwayne), Chris (Lindy) and Dale (Miranda).

Loved grandpa of 5 grandchildren.

Cherished son of Mert & Beverly Mavin and Audrey & the late Dave Kilpatrick.

Dear brother of Brent (Stacy), Jon (Julie) and step-brother Patrick Prindle and the late Ken Prindle.

He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St., Bowmanville, on Thursday July 13th from 1- 3 pm.  A Service to Celebrate Dean’s life will follow in the Chapel at 3 pm.

TENODY, Eva-Maria Charlotte Irene Tenody – Obituary

 

Tenody Eva MariaTENODY, Eva-Maria Charlotte Irene  - Passed away July 6, 2017 at age of 88.

Loving wife of the late Thomas Tenody and proud mother of her four children: Eric and Jennifer; Charlotte and Darrell; Henry; Irene and Peter.

Caring grandmother of Riaz and Kristina, Aleya and Allan; Erika, Keegan; Ashley; and great grandmother to Xavier and Mia.

Born during war torn Europe, Eva-Maria immigrated to Val D’Or, Quebec and married Thomas Tenody in November of 1954.

They endured the cold winters and mining life before resettling in Oshawa, and later, Whitby. She and her husband built their matrimonial home and lived there for almost 60 years, where they raised their 4 children. 

Eva-Maria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, as family was her number one priority. Her other passions included gardening, cooking, baking, and knitting/crocheting.

She loved visitors - the doors were always open to strangers and relatives alike. She will be missed dearly by all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

THOMAS, Madeline Cavell (Noah) Thomas – Obituary

 

THOMAS, Madeline Cavell (Noah) –  Born March 5, 1923 - Madeline Thomas, long time resident of Whitby, Ont.

Passed away July 6, 2017 at the age of 94.

For her last few years she was lovingly cared for at the Carriage House in Oshawa and then Case Manor in Bobcaygeon.

Madeline was the daughter of the late Aletha and Harry Noah Sr.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of almost 60 years, John L. Thomas in October 2002.

Greatly loved Mom to Nancy Winter (Gary), Wayne Thomas (Susan), Judy Diltz (Steve) and Peggy Pflanzer (Peter). She was also cherished Nan to Leanne, Philip, Craig, Mark, Sandy, Marcie, Erin and Michael as well as 14 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Also survived by sister Millie Hogben of Toronto and brother Earl Noah of Burnaby British Columbia. Madeline spent her life caring for others whether in her nursing profession, as a wonderful neighbour and friend, pet sitter, or an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister and grandmother.

Our Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew her but will always be with us in our hearts. Special thank you to all of the wonderful staff who cared for her in the last little while- angels like Rica, Kelly, Joan, June and so many more in Bobcaygeon and Nancy S. in Oshawa who was always there for her.

A family celebration of Madeline's life will take place at a later date.
