A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oshawa Golf & Curling Club 160 Alexandra Street
Oshawa, Ontario on Tuesday December 22, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A toast to Jerry will take place at 7:00 p.m. followed by a few words from Joyce & his children.

“To the World you are one, to us you are the world” From Joyce, Jerry’s Children: Craig, Brad, Debby, Sandy, Laurie, Lesley, Step-daughter: Cindy.

HERON, Mary Jean (Townsend) Heron – Obituary

Heron MaryHERON, Mary Jean (nee Townsend)  -  (Partner of Robert C Heron Ltd Brooklin/ Life long Member Royal Canadian Legion, Br 152 Brooklin) also known in the community as Mrs. Claus.

Passed away peacefully on Friday December 11th, 2015 at the age of 88.

Dearly loved wife of Robert (Bob) Heron for nearly 70 years.

Much loved Mom of Joanne Grills of Lindsay, Fran Morley and her husband Tony of Amherst N.S. and Arizona and Peter Heron and his wife Connie of Brooklin.

Dear Nana of Stephanie and her husband Tom, Jacob and his partner Terri, Sarah and her husband Charlie, Brock and his wife Madelynn. Predeceased by Amanda.

Great-Nana of Brock, Gray and Ryder.

Pre-deceased by her sisters Nancy Grylls (late Doug) and infant sister Frances.

Fondly remembered sister-in-law of Ruth Campbell (late Ralph) of Orillia, John Heron (Mary Beth) of Oshawa. Pre-deceased by Bill Heron (late Bobbi), Mary Jean will be fondly remembered by her nieces  nephews and their families as well as her many many friends.

Visitation at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby from 12 Noon until time of Celebration service in the Barnes Chapel Thursday (December 17th) at 1:00 p.m.

CLARKE, John Robert  -  Age 84 years.  Went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday December 11, 2015 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Beloved husband of the late Tettje “Thelma” Clarke. 

Dear father of Peter (Edna) Buma, the late Thea (the late John) Kingma, Shirley (the late Harry) Vanderheul, the late Hank (Audrey) Buma, Tena (Don) Jenkins, Helen (Percy) Brown, Jake (Brenda) Buma, Albert (Chris) Buma, Trixie (Les) Wright, Thea (Jerry) Morin, Bob (Rose) Buma, Don Buma (Phyllis) and Jane (Dan) Gray. 

He will be sadly missed by his 31 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

John will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH on Monday December 21st, 2015 at 1 pm, with visitation from 12 – 1 pm.  Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. 

Memorial Donations may be made to The Arthritis Society or The Cancer Society through  NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME , 53 Division Street Bowmanville, with whom arrangements have been entrusted.

THOMPSON, Helen Mary (Smith) Thompson – Obituary

THOMPSON, Helen Mary (nee Smith)  - 1932-2015  Helen passed away on December 11, 2015 with her family by her side.

A long-time resident of Uxbridge, she was recently living in Port Perry Place nursing home. 

Loving wife of Doug Thompson, her husband of 62 years and mother of Stephen (Donna), June (Ken) and Joanne (Eugene). 

Proud and loving grandmother to Sarah, Rachael, Emma, Marieke and Jessica and step grandmother to Madison, Andrew and Phillip.

She will be fondly remembered by her brothers John and Stewart, her sister Jannette, and her large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Predeceased by twin brother Fred, brother Stephen, and sisters June and Pat. 

Service will be held in Uxbridge, ON, on Sunday, December 20th pm.

Passed away peacefully at home at Butternut Manor in Uxbridge on December 11th, 2015 in her 96th year. 

Beloved wife of the late Stuart Maxwell Lundy (1998). 

Dear mother of Cheryl Stuart and her husband Brian of St. Albert, AB., Pat McDiarmid and her husband Mike of Bobcaygeon, Kent and his wife Rosalind of Port Perry. 

Nan will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Trevor Lundy (Rebecca), Dan Hingley (Rachelle), Michael Lundy (Catherine), Breanne Owen (Jeff), Jonathan Lundy (Cara), Caolaidhe Lundy, Kyle Hingley (Christina), Rebecca Lundy (Damion) and Doug Stuart.

Grammie will also be missed by her 10 great-grandchildren; Lucius, Gibson, Anne, Max, Abby, Dale, Lillian, Nathan, Audrey and Alexis.

SLAPNICAR, Martin Slapnicar – Obituary

SLAPNICAR, Martin  -  October 26, 1941 - December 11, 2015

Peacefully, in his 75th year, following a lengthy battle with cancer, passed away on Friday December 11, 2015 at Orchard Villa Nursing Home in Pickering.

Martin will be sadly missed by his brother Tony (Ann), nephews Sean (Effie), Jason and his great nephew and nieces Calum, Marina, Sarah and Jessica, his dear friend Moira and many friends and colleagues from Hogan Chevrolet Buick GMC Limited, where he worked for over 55 years.

The family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax, 905 428-8488, on Thursday December 17 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church (1001 Ravenscroft Rd, Ajax) on Friday December 18 at 10am. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
