PINEDA, Cristina Pineda - Lovingly known as Mom, Lola and Commander, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 16th, 2015 at 9:55 a.m.
Her last moments were spent celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary with her loving husband, family and close friends.
Tina was always the life the of party, no matter where she was.
And whenever she was in the spotlight, she took every opportunity to brag about her kids and grandkids. She always went out of her way to make sure they were all taken care of.
She showed great commitment in everything she did: commitment to God, her husband and family, her career, her contribution to the bowling community, and her daily 4:30 ritual with The Young and the Restless.
Although she’s no longer here in the physical sense, we know she is still a part of our everyday lives — whenever we catch a Raptors or Blue Jays game, we will hear her clapping and shouting at the TV; whenever we make pancakes for breakfast, we will remember her no-measurements recipe style; whenever we pass a bowling alley… well, need we say more?
She is survived by her husband, Reggie; her children — Mike and Melanie, Ann and Lenni, Kim and Jon, Reena and Raph, and Aaron and Brady; and her grandchildren — Michael, Gabriel, Mya, Daniel, Jordyn, Kaliya, Matteo, Isabelle, Myles, and Markus.
Mom: it still hasn’t hit us that you’re gone. We’ll feel it hard, especially during birthdays and holidays. Although we will miss every little thing about you, we are at peace knowing you can finally get the rest you deserve.
Visitation will be held at the DESTEFANO FUNERAL HOME, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595 on Sunday, November 22nd from 2:00pm - 4:00pm & 6:00pm - 9:00pm. And Monday, November 23rd from 4:00pm - 9:00pm
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 91 Ribblesdale Street, Whitby on Tuesday, November 24th at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby.
Memories may be shared at destefanofuneralhomes.ca.
