Byrne GeraldBYRNE, Gerald Joseph - February 15, 1947 - November 15, 2015

Known to those who loved him as "Gerry", died on November 15, 2015 from a heart attack.

He is survived by his adoring wife Linda and children Alice and James.

Gerry was also the loving brother of Janice and Elaine (Don). Predeceased by his parents Fred and Gertrude.

He was the dear son-in-law of Maggie and brother-in-law of Doug and Kathy.

He was also the uncle of Donald (Sara), Andrea (Tim), Stephen, and Simon.

He will be very much missed by all who knew and loved him, including his best friend Bill, his grand niece, nephews, and his former colleagues at CIBC and TTC.

A special thank you to the doctors and staff of ICU at the Scarborough Centenary and Ajax Pickering Hospitals.

Visitation will be held at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax, 905-428-8488 on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, 1148 Finch Ave. Pickering on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:30 am.

Peacefully on Sunday evening, November 15, 2015, at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital.

Ruth, loving mother and beloved by all who knew her, will be greatly missed by her seven children, George (Mary), Tony (Mary), Vicky (Charles), Ken (Pat), Elaine, (Tony, deceased), Roy (Movine, deceased), Calvin.

Will also be missed by her 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends, neighbours and parishioners.

Ruth's family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME (28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, 905-428-8488) on Sunday November 22, 2015 from 2-4 p.m.

Funeral Service to take place on Monday November 23rd at 11a .m. at St. Martins Anglican Church (1203 Saint Martins Drive, Pickering).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her beloved St. Martins Anglican Church- Organ Fund or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Bayes JohnBAYES, John William - Sadly, John “Jack” William Bayes passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at his home in Kirkfield, Ontario.

Jack was born on April 28, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario.

Predeceased by his parents James Borden Bayes and Margaret Frances (Walsh) Bayes and parents-in-law Anthony & Bernadette Di Nova.

Loving husband to Bonnie (Di Nova) Bayes and devoted father to daughter Jacqueline Lee Lancaster and son Jamie Dean Bayes and predeceased by son John “Johnny” Anthony James Bayes and father-in-law to Lorraine (Cole) Bayes.

Very proud, caring and loving grandfather “Grumpy” to Dakota Lancaster, Austin Bayes, Cassidy Lancaster, Christina Bayes, Grace Bayes and Ashlynn Bayes.

Beloved brother to Ronald (Elisabeth) Bayes, Allan (Jan) Bayes, Brian (Dolores) Bayes, Joanne Taylor, Kathy Winnett (Harvey) and brother-in-law to Leonard (Betty) Di Nova, Rudy (Diane) Di Nova, Alanna (Benny) Di Nova, Melanie Prosser, Celine Di Nova and Michelle Di Nova.

He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jack would never miss an opportunity to go hunting with family and friends and sadly missed his son and hunting partner Johnny who passed away April 8, 2007.

He loved going to the country music jamborees and travelling to islands with his good friends. Jack coached hockey for many years in Pickering and continued to coach his beloved grandchildren from the sidelines at hockey, lacrosse, basketball and soccer games – whether needed or not. He never missed an opportunity to travel the province to cheer on and support his children. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He loved family and friends gathering at the cottage where fun, good times and shenanigans were abound. He never missed an opportunity to bestow his political and world affairs views on young and old.

In his final years, while living at the cottage, he truly ‘soaked-in’ every ounce of life to the fullest.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the STODDART FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE 24 Mill Street, Lindsay, ON (705) 324-3205 on Wednesday, November 18th – 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Thursday, November 19th – 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 40 Russell St. E., Lindsay on Friday, November 20th at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lindsay.

WATSON, Brian Watson, Obituary

Watson BrianWATSON, Brian -  February 21, 1955 - November 14, 2015

On Saturday, November 14th, 2015, my sweet husband Brian went home, surrounded by his loving family, myself Julie along with his cherished mother June, his heartbroken children Michelle and Adrian, daughter-in-law Kelly, and devoted brothers Wayne and Bob. 

There to pick up the pieces of our hearts were loving wives Pam (Wayne) and Wendy (Bob), Cory, many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. 

He will be sadly missed by the Parry family. 

Present in spirit were Brian’s father Bill and younger brother Steve (Christina). 

A hard working, active man, Brian along with his family successfully built and operated Storage Depot.

Together we enjoyed the outdoors; boating, fishing, camping at Charleston Lake and skidooing. 

Together we experienced the beauty of nature.  Thank you to Jan and the compassionate nursing staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. 

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, November 19th from 1:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 4:00 p.m.  

Memorial donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Passed away peacefully in Oshawa on Saturday, November 14, 2015 after a brief and sudden battle with cancer.

Born April 22, 1958, Ben leaves his pride and joy - daughter Ellen "Ellie" Jane Janvary Gillespie and son Evan Alexander Gray Gillespie of Niagara Falls; his heart-broken wife Karen (nee Snow) and her children, Stacey Snow (Matt) and Brandon Snow (Mandy); his mother Anne, his brother Duke (Diana), his brothers-in-law Randy and Kevin (Loretta) and his in-laws, Shirley and Roy Snow.

Predeceased by his father, the Reverend Frank Gillespie (2001).

Ben will also be lovingly remembered by his many friends and relatives.

At Ben's request, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME (28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax 905-428-8488) on Friday, November 20th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and on Saturday, November 21st at 12 noon with a Memorial Service to follow in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 1:00 pm.

The family will also receive friends at the Stamford Lane United Church, 3855 St. Peter Ave., Niagara Falls, Ontario on Sunday, November 22nd from 3:00 - 5:00 pm for an informal visitation.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Canadian Cancer Society.

RICHARDS, Catherine Elaine (HAMILTON)  -  Passed away peacefully into God's presence on November 13, 2015.

Missing her already is: loving husband Stanley, son Norman (wife Cyndy) and daughter Beverly. Her five grandchildren: Jennifer (husband Doug), Gordon (wife Michelle), Graham (wife Megan), Christopher (Michelle) and Lisa. Great-grandchildren: Owen, Carter, Addison, Davis and Madelyn.

Elaine loved the days at the cottage and trying to keep up with the adventures of her children and additionally her grandchildren.

She will be missed as a wife, a Mom, a Grandma and a Great-Grandma. Her family is left sharing memories of the love she had for her loved ones.

Past years have brought a challenging quality of life yet always a positive attitude being filled with the spirit of the Lord.

This is only a temporary parting as we will see her in heaven but until that time, she will always be loved and never forgotten for her deep love that she had for all of us and the influence she had on our lives.

A family celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 beginning with Visitation at 1:00 p.m., then Celebration of Life Gathering between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m.

Alve Gagnon, beloved husband of Verna (nee Vilbert) of Seagrave.
