Passed away peacefully at her residence on the evening of Saturday, September 5th, 2015 at the age of 76. 

Beloved wife of Henry for 55 years. 

Loving mother of Donna, Michael (Colleen) and James. 

Cherished Nanny of Christine and Crystal.

Devoted great-grandmother of Emily, Joseph and Chloe.  Evelyn will be fondly remembered by all her extended family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, September 11th at 1:00 p.m.

PEEVER, Gwendolyn Stella Ann Peever – Obituary

Peever GwendolynPEEVER, Gwendolyn Stella Ann -  Passed away peacefully, with family by her side on September 5, at the age of 93.

Born in Ottawa on February 26, 1922. 

Gwendolyn is survived by her son, Barry(Colleen), her grandchildren Lynsey(Matt) and Cailin(Lee).  Great-grandmother of Colby, Sister-in-Law of Anastasia. 

Gwendolyn is predeceased by her husband Ronald, her parents John and Anna, her sisters Muriel Cybulski(Edward), Rita Cybulski(Michael), Nora Nighbor(John) and her brother Lawrence Whelan.

Gwendolyn’s family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Fairview Lodge for all the care and compassion that they have provided.

Friends may call for visitation on Tuesday, September 8 at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa) from 2-4 and 7-9pm, with a funeral mass to take place on Wednesday, September 9 at 10am at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church.  Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Durham Region Cancer Centre are greatly appreciated by her family.

Haskill RobertHASKILL, Robert WIlliam -  December 31, 1952 – September 5, 2015

After a 5 year battle with multiple myeloma Rob passed away with his family by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 62. 

Proud father of Cheryl-Lynn and April.  Cherished brother of Linda, Joan, and Marg.

Predeceased by his parents Robert J. Haskill, Jean M. Bridger and brother in laws Earl Heaslip and Doug Smith.

Rob will be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and special friend Nan Dunnett.

Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and PSW who looked after Rob at home and in the hospital these past few months. Special thanks to PSW John you put a smile on his face, and nurse Catherine for being there whenever we needed you.

At Rob’s request there will be no funeral service, he will be donating his organs to cancer research.

Rob will be cremated and his ashes laid to rest with his parents during a private graveside service at Havelock Cemetery. 

Donations to the Hospital for Sick Kids or Make a Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Bies TaniaBIES, Tania Natalie (nee Denman) -  After a courageous battle with cancer, Tania passed away peacefully at the age of 50, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on September, 4, 2015, with her family by her side.

Dearly beloved wife of 25 years to Doug Bies.

Loved mother of Katrina and Eric. Loving daughter of Valerie and Norman Denman.

Courageous sister of Adina and brother-in-law Scott Thompson and Bart Bies. Adoring aunt to Kendra, Jillian & Mellissa.

Tania will be sadly missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins in the UK,  her best friend Terri Schirmer and family, her in-laws Bill and Betty Bies, and last but not least her dog Boo.

Tania loved Dragon Boating with the Warriors of Hope and will be missed by her crew. Also a heartfelt thank you to Dr. DeVost and the Supportive Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their T.L.C.

Visitation will be held at the DESTEFANO FUNERAL HOME, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595 on Saturday, September 12th  from 1-2 pm.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Tania will be held in the DeStefano Chapel at 2 pm.

A second service will be held in North Bay on Saturday, September 26th at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23, 150 First Ave W, North Bay, ON,  same times as above.
