HOLDCROFT, Edna Lois - (July 21, 1921 – March 3, 2017) - Edna Holdcroft (nee Rogers) passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2017, at the age of 95.
She was a nurse in Havelock for more than 30 years alongside her husband Dr. Don. She enjoyed golfing, travelling, and summers cottaging at Kosh.
Edna will be missed by children Dorothy (late Bill) Harrison, Shirley (George) Shipley, Jim (Marie), and Bill (Anne), grandchildren Peter, Wendy (late Jeff) Jones, Janet (Charles), Judy, Ayn, Bill (Carole), Diane (John), Patrick (Elaine), Jessica (Xander) and Heather (Eveline) Traxler, and many great-grandchildren.
The youngest of seven siblings, Edna was born in Cherrywood to parents Hannah Jane Storry and Fred Altona Rogers. She was predeceased by husband Donald James, siblings Violet, Hazel (Eric) Pearson, Freda (Harold) Newton, Edith (Chester) Burrows, Ruby, and Wilfrid (Betty), daughter Betty (Bill) Jamieson, and grandchildren Sandy, Callie and Robert.
Edna’s family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph's at Fleming in Peterborough, who cared for her in her later years.
Visitation at BRETT FUNERAL CHAPEL, Havelock on Tuesday from 7 – 9 pm and Wednesday from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 8th at 1:30 pm, Brenda Leeming officiating. Light refreshments to follow at Havelock United Church. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery in the spring.
