Janet Adelene Firman

1926 – 2025

Janet Adelene Firman (née Hawkins), age 98, of Forest, Ontario, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Bear Creek Terrace in Petrolia.

Beloved wife of the late Harold C. Firman (1997). Devoted mother of Elizabeth and Michael Dunlop,
the late Robert Firman (1987) and Vickie (Norm) Stewart, and Kenneth and the late Linda Firman (2024).
Cherished grandmother of Robert and Stephanie Firman, Tracy and Kenneth Curry,
Kori Dunlop and Michael Stewart, Darren (Zirk) Firman, and Lisa Francis.
Proud great-grandmother to Katelynn and Haileigh Firman, and Damian and Aidan Curry.

Survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law George and Adrienne Firman, Robert and Linda Firman,
Verna Firman, and stepsister Evelyn Kirwin. Janet is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by her parents Robert and Addie (Janes) Hawkins, stepmother Edith “Peg” (Dewar) Hawkins,
brother George Hawkins (2022), sister-in-law Edith Hawkins, and extended family members Millicent (Firman)
and Albert Beaudoin, Bruce Firman, and stepsister Betty Mollitor.

Janet was born in Warwick Township, where she and her husband farmed for several years.
She later worked in the admitting and outpatient department at Strathroy Middle General Hospital until her retirement.

She was an active member of the Warwick Women’s Institute, the Warwick Craft Group, and the Red Hat Society.
After moving to Forest, she joined St. James Presbyterian Church, where she was a dedicated choir member.

Visitation will be held at Denning’s of Forest (9 James St. S., Forest)
on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at
St. James Presbyterian Church (19 Main St. N., Forest).
Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Warwick Township.

In memory of Janet, donations may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church, the Canadian Cancer Society,
or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Forest Funeral Home in Southwestern Ontario.
