Dorothy Louise Bird (née Fry)

June 5, 1926 - November 20, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Louise Bird (née Fry) announces her peaceful passing on November 20, 2024, at the age of 98. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late James “Jim” Bird and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lynda Dunsford (John), Dana Prashaw, and Peg Bird, and is predeceased by her son David. Dorothy was a proud and loving grandmother to Aaron (Catherine), Julie (Roger), Brendon, Darcy (Colleen), Rob (Kodid), and Shannon, as well as a cherished Great Nana to 11 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law, Robert Bird, and extended family and friends.

Dorothy loved traveling with her husband, Jim, and together they explored many destinations, creating lasting memories. She was an accomplished artist who excelled in painting, and her creativity extended to sewing, where she lovingly crafted outfits for her family. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Sweet Adelines and the Grace United Choir, where she shared her love of music and community.

Friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Dorothy’s life on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Lillian Allan Hall of Grace United Church, 301 Broad St. East, Dunnville.

The family extends their deepest gratitude for your kind words and thoughts during this difficult time. Dorothy’s legacy of love, creativity, and community will be cherished by all who knew her.
