Dale Robin Alcorn
May 26, 1956 – November 15, 2024
Dale Robin Alcorn passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 15, 2024, at Humber River Hospital – Wilson Site, after a brief illness.
Despite a cardiac arrest that led to a brain injury, Dale was surrounded by his loving siblings, Darlene and John, holding his hands as he transitioned peacefully.
Dale is lovingly remembered by his sister Darlene (Garry) and her family, his brother John (Pat) and his family, and many other dear relatives, including Tami and Cassandra, who held a special place in his heart.
He is predeceased by his sister Terry, his parents, David, Josh, and his beloved wife, Ellen Reid.
Dale had many hobbies and interests, starting as a meticulous model builder, crafting planes and cars with precision.
He had a deep love for Formula One racing and shared a passion for camping, golf, and the outdoors.
His humor and penchant for pranks brought joy to everyone around him.
A lifelong music and movie enthusiast, Dale had an impressive collection and was a trivia whiz in these categories.
He cherished his travels within Canada, especially to Newfoundland with his late wife, visiting her family.
Dale dedicated over 25 years to Rexel Canada Electrical Inc., retiring in 2021, where he was fondly regarded by colleagues and management.
His final home at Weston Gardens Retirement Residence became a place where he was deeply loved, engaging in outings and theme dinners, leaving behind many heartfelt condolences from residents and staff alike.
Rest in peace, Dale, and golf on with Dad. You will be missed by all whose lives you touched.

Il laisse dans le deuil sa mère Claire, ses sœurs et frères : Diane (Marc), Hélène (Paul), Richard (Haruyo), Linda et Steven, ses nièces et neveu, plusieurs cousins, cousines, tantes, oncles, collègues de travail ainsi que de très bons amis.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Platt, who died on November 7, 2024, in Toronto at the age of 63. Raymond was predeceased by his father Robert. He is survived by his mother Claire, his sisters and brothers: Diane (Marc), Hélène (Paul), Richard (Haruyo), Linda and Steven, his nieces and nephew, many cousins, aunts, uncles, work colleagues, as well as very good friends.
A celebration of his life will take place on December 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Cabane en bois rond, located at 331 Cité-des-Jeunes, Gatineau, Quebec. Family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours are invited to gather and share memories in his honour.

Corliss Hector MacLeod
April 30, 1938 - November 15, 2024
Corliss Hector MacLeod, age 86, of Donkin, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 15th, 2024, at home with his loving wife, Dorothy, at Park Place Manor in Aurora, Ontario. Born on April 30th, 1938, in Donkin, he was the son of the late Angus and Laula (Florence) MacLeod.
Corliss had a passion for travel, which he embraced during his time as a ship’s electrician aboard the historic HMCS Haida while serving in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1955 to 1960. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Ransome, and together they built a life filled with cherished memories, including family vacations, cruises, and travels across North and South America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Corliss will be deeply missed by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy, and their three children: Kathy (Dave), Shane (Moira), and Heather (Don). His legacy lives on through his nine grandchildren, Cory, Sean, Nicole (Anton), Kristina (Eric), Julia (Victor), Tyler (Sarah), Andrew, Mitchell (Nicole), and Brendon (Karleigh), as well as his eight great-grandchildren: Sara, Mackenzie, Annabelle, Alexa, Julian, Leonardo, Fionn, and Isabel.
Corliss was predeceased by his three younger brothers, Dordie (George), Gary, and Kenny, and is survived by his beloved God-daughter and sister, Rosemary Howie (David). He will also be fondly remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and his lifelong friend Roger Howie, with whom he shared daily conversations and a love for Coronation Street.
Known for his quiet demeanor, Corliss found joy in the company of loved ones and expressed his affection through his culinary talents. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, and Family Feud, delighting in solving answers first.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Park Place Manor, Dr. Amin, Nurse Roya, and the Palliative Care team for their compassionate care during Corliss’s final days, as well as to friends at the Aurora Leisure Complex for their enduring love and support.
Go in peace, Dad. One day, we will meet again. As Frank Sinatra sang, “I did it my way,” you truly lived and loved life your way.

David Roy Burton
June 20, 1935 - November 14, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Roy Burton, who passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at the age of 89, surrounded by his loving family.
Roy was a devoted husband to his wife Shirley and a cherished father to his children Wendy (Liz), Bonny (Ron), Larry (Una), Donna, Karen (Jeff), Ken (Jean), and Linda (Brian). He was the proud grandpa of 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his surviving brother John (Sue) and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Bill, Walter, and Harry and sisters Jean and Carol, Roy will forever be missed by his extended family and many friends.
Roy lived a life filled with love, dedication, and passion, both for his family and his work in the roofing industry. A proud member of his AA Fellowship, Roy's humor and zest for life were evident in the countless social events, humorous antics, and memorable family gatherings he orchestrated. He was an avid hockey player in his youth and a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Roy's honor to the RS McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre (lhfoundation.ca) in Oshawa.
Roy is now at peace, but his legacy of love and laughter will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
Terry Harper
June 18, 1956 – November 7, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce Terry’s passing unexpectedly at home on November 7, 2024, at the age of 68.
Terry is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mary Harper, and his sister, Judy Harper. He leaves behind his daughters, Katie and Tara (Brandon Beers), along with their mother, Diana Harper. He was a proud grandfather to Rachel and Morgan Beers and is mourned by his siblings Jane Barry (Jim) of British Columbia, Mike Harper (Cathy) of Cobourg, Wendy Harper, and Nancy Harper of Oshawa. Terry was also a beloved uncle to many nephews.
A devoted sports enthusiast, Terry especially loved hockey (a loyal Leafs fan) and baseball, a passion he shared with his daughter Katie. Known for his skill with his hands, Terry had a remarkable talent for building, refinishing, and repairing, which he pursued with dedication throughout his life.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SickKids or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Terry’s memory.

Valerie “Mary” Schuster
February 8, 1943 – November 8, 2024
Valerie “Mary” Schuster, born on February 8, 1943, to Thomas and Florence Anne McGeever in Ilford, England, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, at Sunnybrook Hospital. Mary, a beloved nurse and friend, came to Canada in 1969, where she worked at Central and Wellesley Hospitals in Toronto and established a life filled with joy and adventure.
Mary was an avid world traveler, a devoted cook who loved entertaining friends, and a loving cat mom to her cherished feline companions over the years. She had a passion for genealogy and was delighted to reconnect with family in the UK, which brought her tremendous joy. Mary will be dearly missed by her goddaughter, Sally Peck, her family, and her many friends from all walks of life, including her nursing colleagues and bridge group. Her love for travel, birding, and life’s simple pleasures will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Teresa Petrella and her team at the Odette Cancer Centre, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, for their compassionate care of Mary during her illness.
In accordance with Mary’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
Antonietta Busuttil
1937 – November 13, 2024
It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Antonietta Busuttil, who passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, at the age of 87 years.
Antonietta was born in Andora, Italy in 1937 and, at age nine, voyaged to Venezuela with her family, spending ten formative years there. At age 19, she returned to Europe to work and travel, eventually meeting her husband, Victor, while studying in England. In 1964, she immigrated to Canada, where she continued her love of travel, staying connected with family and friends worldwide.
She worked in electronics assembly while raising her children in Bramalea, later moving to vibrant downtown Toronto. Known for her culinary talents, Antonietta learned to cook from her father, an international chef. Her greatest joy was simply being with people, helping others, and fostering connections with warmth and kindness.
Antonietta's resilience saw her through multiple battles with breast cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. Despite her health struggles, she remained strong and caring until the end. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Victor, daughters Linda (Ralph) and Christine, grandchildren Sierra, Isaac, Ryan, Elena, and Naomi, her sister Mirella (Fausto), and numerous friends and relatives touched by her selfless spirit.
The family extends special thanks to the dedicated staff at St. Michael's Hospital Palliative Unit and Kensington Hospice for their compassionate care of Antonietta.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Antonietta’s memory can be made to Parkinson Canada or the Kensington Health Foundation.
A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
John Beverly Butchart (Butch)
January 1, 1931 – November 10, 2024
After a very full life shared with family, friends, and many years of love, laughter, and happiness, we are saddened to announce the passing of our much-loved father, brother, uncle, and friend to many, John Beverly Butchart, known fondly as "Butch."
Butch brightened the room wherever he went. He was an avid reader, loved doing the daily crosswords, enjoyed painting, and was known for creating cartoons for all occasions. With a love for a cold beer and his signature "Puff Dady" license plates, Butch was easily recognized by his fedora and preference for a good Cuban cigar.
He will be lovingly missed by his daughter Caroline, sister Barbara, and extended family and friends.
In lieu of a formal funeral service, a celebration of Butch's life will be held at the Whitby Legion. Date and times to be confirmed.

Kevin Ferguson
November 10, 1959 - November 10, 2024
The family of Kevin Ferguson is saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, November 10, 2024. Kevin passed away peacefully at the age of 65.
Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Sandra; his children April and Robert (Wes); and his grandchildren, Cailynn and Izaiah. He is survived by his three brothers, Craig, Mike (Deb), and Steve, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Kevin is predeceased by his parents, Jan and Gord Brown (stepfather) and Robert Ferguson (father).
Kevin will be cremated, and as per his wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honour to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or to Mount Sinai Hospital.
