Portrait of Temistocle 'Temi' Pietrelli

Temistocle "Temi" Pietrelli

January 13, 1943 – November 28, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Temistocle "Temi" Pietrelli on November 28, 2024, at the age of 81. Temi passed away peacefully at Welland General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Maria (Mary) Pietrelli (nee Rotella) for many wonderful years, Temi was a devoted father to Linda Sardella (Domenic) and Loriann Muscat (Michael). He was a cherished Papa to Nicolas (Lauren), Jessica (Nick), Megan Sardella, and Joshua Muscat. Temi is survived by his twin brother Gary Pietrelli (MaryAnn) and many extended family members, including in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Born in Montemaggiore, Pesaro, Italy, Temi immigrated to Canada in 1960. He worked at Inco for 19 years and John Deere for 17 years as a welder. Temi was a proud member of the Italian Canadian Culture Centre, Port Colborne Bocce Club, and the Italian Hall Shuffleboard League. He found joy in his garden, especially tending to his cherished fig trees, and was well-known for his homemade wine, soppressata, and passatelli. Temi’s helping hands and humorous personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will take place at Armstrong Funeral Home & Chapel, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with vigil prayers at 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 379 Fares Street, Port Colborne, at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the palliative care nurses, PSWs, and Northland Pointe Day Program staff for their compassionate care. Donations in Temi’s memory may be made to St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church or the Alzheimer Society of Canada – Niagara Region.
