Passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2025 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in her 85th year.

Beloved wife of the late Vincenzo for 59 years. Loved mother of Guy (Carolyn), Gino (Heather) and the late Franca. Survived by her son-in-law Joe Gatti. Adored Grandmother/Nonna of Kateryna, Vienna, Mateo, Jacob, Olivia, Jamie (Dylan), Jesse (Jon), Mikayla (Colin), Owen, Chance, and Jake and Great Grandmother/Nonna of Ashlynn and Austin.

Lovingly remembered by her brother Joe Canonico (Carmela), sister Carmela Visconti (the late Vincenzo). Predeceased by brother Tony Canonico (Ida), Mario (Ottorina), and sister Filomena (Pasquale). Survived by her sisters-in-law Pierina (Guido) and Ermelinda in Italy.

Maria was an incredible woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and the matriarch of her family. She was resourceful, loving, and dedicated to her family. She built a life filled with care, creativity, and resilience. Whether through her cooking, gardening, or crafting, she poured her heart into everything she did. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the warmth she shared with those around her. May her memory always bring comfort and inspiration to those who knew her.

The Posteraro family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Aubrey Kassirer and the entire team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa 4F for their compassion, care and tremendous support.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Mass will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 10:00am at St. Therese Catholic Church, 3800 Courtice Road, Courtice. Followed by entombment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Lakeridge Health Foundation or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Peacefully passed away on March 17, 2025 at Fairview Lodge, at the age of 93.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Jack (2017). Loving mother of Jim (Deborah), Lynda Wannamaker (Gary), and Tom (Bruce). Cherished grandmother of David and Christine (Jonathan) and great-grandmother of Riley.
Patricia was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose kindness and warmth extended beyond her family, touching the lives of countless students and staff during her years as a dedicated school secretary.

Cremation will take place and Patricia’s cremated remains will be interred with her husband at Groveside Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Armstrong Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at Armstrong Funeral Home.

 

John Gordon Fice

Peacefully passed away at Frost Manor Nursing Home in Lindsay, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the age of 84.

Loving father of John Jr. (Karen), Shelley, and David. Cherished grandfather of Nicole (Nathan), Melissa, Ryan (Kayla), Brittany, and Tyler (Kellie). Beloved friend of Carolyn. Dear brother of Bev (late Keith) and Trudy (Dave) and brother-in-law of Joan. Predeceased by his parents Edward & Eva and his brothers Bill (Carolyn), baby Donald, and Roy.

John will be fondly remembered by his many friends and family.

As the proud owner of Fice’s Shell & Service Centre, JSD Haulage, Kendal Hills Water, and Newtonville Store, John built a legacy of dedication and perseverance, always leading by example.

He was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Moose Lodge, where he found camaraderie and shared his unwavering support for fellow members.

Above all, John was a deeply proud grandfather-his grandchildren were his world. He filled their lives with love, laughter and life lessons, always making sure they knew the importance of a strong work ethic-including the proper way to mix cement. His wisdom and guidance will remain in their hearts forever.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring staff at Frost Manor (Lindsay), who made John's stay safe and comfortable.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 2-5 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery.

Fely Ilse Clara Lohmann

Sunday, March 16th, 2025 - 102nd Year

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Fely, in her 102nd year. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She was born in Hamburg, Germany to Olga Krause and Otto Karl Walther Voigt. Predeceased by her husband, the love of her life and best friend Otto (1984), her daughter Ingrid (2021) and her son-in-law John (2017). Loving mother of Joe (Vicki) and Peter (Shelley). Dear Oma of Debbie, Leslie, Matthew, Sarah, Lindsay, Andrew, and Madison and Great-Oma of Stephanie, Chance, Donavon, Riley, Ryan, Mya, and Landon.

A very special thank you is sent to all staff at AgeCare Samac, especially those on Purple Woods for their incredible care and compassion over the past 10 years.

Cremation will take place and Fely’s cremated remains will be interred with her husband at St. Margaret in the Pines Cemetery, Scarborough.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Irene Pawluczek.

Irene Pawluczek passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Friday, March 7th, 2025 in the comfort of her own home. Irene had just celebrated her 66th birthday on January 16th. Devoted mother of Serena Garrido, and loving wife of Arturo Garrido. Dear sister of Helen Cieslik, Christine Parry, and Rosemary Pawluczek. Predeceased by her parents Alexandra and Joseph Pawluczek, and her brothers Peter, John, Michael, Steve, and Stan Pawluczek.

Irene always had a passionate zest for life, channeling her adventurous spirit and creative energies in everything she did. She enjoyed travel, country drives, home decor & home making, crafting, dining out, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter. Irene will always be remembered, loved, and dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those she held near to her heart.

Visitation and memorial service will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Saturday, March 22nd. Family welcome as early as 9:30am, friends and others welcome 10:30am. The memorial service will be held from 11:30am-12pm.

Katheryne Henderson Kirk

March 13, 2025

Passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 after a courageous battle with Cancer, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Katheryne, in her 79th year, leaves behind her beloved sons Cameron & Steve (Jackie).

Adoring and proud grandmother of Jake, Niki, Lucas and Tommy.

Katheryne was predeceased by her parents George & Elizabeth and by her brother George.

Katheryne had a deep love for spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shopping, bingo and walking brought her joy, but nothing compared to the moments she shared with her loved ones. Movie nights with the grandchildren were some of her most treasured memories-filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness.

Cremation has taken place and her family will be taking her back to her birthplace in Scotland.

Donations in memory of Katheryne to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

It is with wonderful memories of a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Carmelle. Born and raised in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, Mom passed away in Oshawa, Ontario on March 13, 2025, at the age of 96.

Oshawa was home for Mom. She worked at Devon Pharmacy for some 27 years, a job she loved so much. You could always count on a pleasant greeting when you entered the pharmacy. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant everything to her, as well as her many friends.

Mom was predeceased by our father, Gerard Larocque, a veteran of WWII, our brother Shawn, our step-father Claude, her parents Armand and Isola Gauthier, her sisters Diane Jessup, Helen Dupre, Jeannine Naud, and brother Gerald.

She will forever be remembered by her children Georges (Jodie), Sharon (Eddy), Brenda (Paul), Michael, and Caroline (Terry). Her grandchildren, James Thompson, Chantal Cochrane (John), Vidal Larocque (Lena), Jean-Claude Larocque (Wanda), Leisa Palmer (Leo), Joey Harwood-Jones, Melanie Maxwell, Jared Larocque, Joel Larocque, Daniel Larocque, Jenny Larocque (Casey), and her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kody, Jamie, Kingston, Blake, Ryely, Jaxen, Mackenzie, Hazel, Chyna, and Chace, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel.

Mom will be buried alongside our father, Gerard, in the Abitibi Cemetery in Iroquois Falls.
