Jerry BryansBRYANS, Jerry Bryans - October 9th, 1953 - September 21st, 2024

Passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday 21 September 2024, at the age of 70.

Loved husband and best friend of Debbie Bryans for 50 wonderful years. Proud Father of Teri Ann and Christopher and his partner Shannon. Devoted son of Jean Bryans and the late Bill; cherished brother of Jeanie Wilkinson (Wayne), Donnie Bryans (Colleen), Bonnie Martin and Jim Bryans (Suzanne). Pre-deceased by brother Roly, who is survived by his wife Rowena. Jerry will be missed by numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends and colleagues.

Born and raised in Smiths Falls, Ontario, Jerry spent his adult life raising his children in Oshawa, Eden Mills and Brooklin Ontario, before retiring with Debbie in Bobcaygeon to his dream property, Twin Bear Farms. After graduating from Trent University with a Bachelor of Science degree, his career carried him through the ranks of General Motors on staff for thirty-two years. Driven by an unremitting work ethic and love of country life, Jerry ‘retired’ into two subsequent careers, embracing challenges in real estate with Royal LePage Kawartha Lakes and running a cow-calf operation for fifteen years.

A man of broad interests, Jerry spent many years researching his family’s genealogy, hunting and fishing with friends, golfing, wood carving and capturing life’s moments through amateur photography. He was an active member of the Victoria Cattleman’s Association, the Bobcaygeon Chamber of Commerce, the Bobcaygeon Curling Club, the Bobcaygeon Agricultural Society and avid supporter of local events.

Jerry’s travels took him from the Caribbean islands with friends and onto many European adventures including the Bryans ancestral homeland of Ireland. With his life-long travel partner Debbie, he ventured to the pyramids in Egypt, on safari in South Africa, as well as to the Great Wall of China. Closer to home, his love of country music took him to the Grand Ole Opry with his closest life-long friends.

From humble beginnings, Jerry was known most for his love and dedication in taking care of his family and friends. His humour, colourful expressions and enthusiasm for hard work left an unforgettable impression on all who knew him. His heart and pride lay always with his wife and children as well as their home at Twin Bear Farms.

Relieved that his pain and suffering has now ceased, his family is grateful for every moment they shared with him and miss him dearly. He is now reunited with his father, Irish twin and faithful companions Harley and Dakota.

He is missed beyond words but will be Forever in Our Hearts.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 1st at 11:00am up until the time of service at 12:30pm at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Road North, Whitby, ON.

The family is grateful for all of the care and support given to Jerry by the Peterborough Regional Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Community Team at Community Care, City of Kawartha Lakes.
