The family of James "Don" Clowes is saddened to announce his sudden passing on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in his 82nd year. Loving husband to Mandy for 63 years. Beloved father of Susan, Andrew, Simon, and Mathew. Cherished grandfather of 6 grandchildren. Respected brother of George and Bill.

Don and Mandy were heavily involved in the growth of the Glanbrook Youth Soccer Club for 46 years.

Visitation will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton (905.574.0405), on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 4 PM – 8 PM. Cremation will take place privately.

Sandra Lee Campanella

May 14, 1949 – December 8, 2024

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by family, Sandra Lee passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in her 76th year. Beloved mother of Michelle, Dannielle, James (Bernadette), Christopher (Tina), Joey (Laura), Cory (Nina), Robin, and Bradley (Kim). Grandmother (Nena) of 21 and great-grandmother of 3. Loved by her sister Diana (John) Avery, Georgina (Gerald) Lupton, and Greg (Elaine) Needham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family. Daughter of the late Bernadette and Melville Needham.

A longtime resident of the North End, Sandra had many friends in the community. She had many hobbies: knitting, crocheting, sewing, among others. She enjoyed playing darts, and in the past few years, she loved to travel to the Caribbean.

Cremation has taken place, and a private burial will be held in early spring.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Bay Gardens Funeral Home. We love you mom, rest in eternal peace.

Leemar Morris

May 28, 1945 – December 9, 2024

Leemar Albert Morris, of Rosary Cottage, Shakthikulangara, India, and 28 Holimont Court, Hamilton, Canada, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Canada, at the age of 79.

Leemar was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Honorine Morris, who stood by his side through life’s every season. He will forever be cherished by his children Anita Manoj, Manoj Cletus, Eric Morris, and Saira Morris, as well as his adored grandchildren Nikhil Manoj, Vivek Manoj, Alexander Morris, and Benjamin Morris. Leemar now joins in Heaven his parents Albert and Euphrasia, and his dear siblings Sylvie, James, Mercy, and little Baby.

A kind and gentle soul, Leemar dedicated his life to nurturing his family, fostering meaningful relationships, and championing charitable causes close to his heart. In retirement, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with loved ones, cultivating his garden, and creating art that reflected his thoughtful spirit.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate medical team at Juravinski Hospital for their exceptional care and support during Leemar’s final days.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation on December 14, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton). A Funeral Service, led by Fr. Mark Gatto, will follow in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (254 Garner Rd W, Ancaster).

Naresh Kumar Chand

March 30, 1957 – December 10, 2024

Surrounded by family, our beloved father, Naresh Kumar Chand, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2024. A devoted father, loving husband of 35 years, and faithful servant of God, Naresh lived his life with unwavering love, kindness, and faith in Christ.

Born on March 30, 1957, in Mansoorpur, Punjab, Naresh immigrated to Ontario in 1990 and later became a cherished member of People’s Church congregation. He devoted much of his time and energy to serving others and spreading the message of God’s love. Known for his humility, generosity, and joy, he had a special ability to lift the spirits of everyone he encountered.

Throughout his life, Naresh exemplified the love of Christ through his actions and his care for others, including his work as a developmental support worker and educational assistant. His wisdom, kindness, and steadfast faith were a guiding light for his family and community. Through his immense trials, he remained a man of prayer, even to his final days; always trusting in God’s plan and sharing His love with those around him.

Naresh was a constant source of strength and guidance to his children, a caring brother, and uncle. His legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire us all. Naresh is predeceased by his parents Nasib and Mercy Chand, and brothers Nirmal, Nirdosh, and Narinder Chand. Lovingly remembered by wife Brij, children Joyna and Patrick (Megan), and sisters Nirmala (Surjit) Ram and Promila (Sunil) Dass, along with a host of dear friends and extended family.

Visitations will be held on December 15th at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, beginning at 2:00-4:00 PM & 6:00-8:00 PM. A Christian funeral service will follow on December 16th at 11:00 AM, led by Pastor Carl Sawler at Harmony Baptist Church, with burial at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.

The family invites everyone to join in sharing a meal following the burial ceremony. Lunch will be held at Harmony Baptist Church.

May the peace of Christ, which transcends all understanding, comfort all who mourn the loss of this precious soul. We rejoice knowing that Naresh is now resting in the arms of his Savior, awaiting the day when all will be reunited in His eternal Kingdom.

January 10, 1942 – December 12, 2024

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, at the age of 82. Lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Roberto Cruz, and their children Cleofe Deguzman (Leo Jr.) and Aphraim (Sarah), grandchildren Dimitri Deguzman (Victoria), Korina Deguzman, and Cecile Deguzman. Sister-in-law Virginia Savedia (Serafin), niece Sheila Cayabyab (Frank), Katelyn, and Christina, niece Lalaine Alfaro (Marolo). Predeceased by her parents Vincente and Simeona Alvarez Lumain and her siblings Lucia Esparagoza, Consuela Discipulo, Jesus, Jose, Apolonio, Alice Poblete, and Ramon Lumain. Surviving sibling Lydia Barrientos.

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, on Sunday, December 15th from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Vigil prayers will be said at 3:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Annunciation of our Lord Parish on Monday, December 16th at 10 AM. Cremation to follow.

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Kelly Marie Smith on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the age of 65, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Beloved wife of Paul, cherished mother of Sabrina, and the youngest sister of Jann, Mike (Mayeli), Marc (Joan), Marian (Garry), and Nancy. She was a dear sister-in-law to Kelly and Rob Nardi and a caring aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents John and Helen, infant great-niece Savanna, and nephew Anthony Unelli (May 2024), Kelly will be missed by her friends, neighbors, past co-workers, and extended family. Known for her quiet kindness and devotion to her family, Kelly created warm memories through thoughtful gestures and big, joyful family gatherings. Her chili, gardening, and “Kelly Coffee” were legendary among her loved ones.

Kelly’s family will forever be in awe of her strength and tenacity as she faced her illness with courage. They wish to thank the incredible care teams at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassion and guidance.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Filippo Perrelli on November 27, 2024, at the age of 84. Filippo was the beloved husband of Nella (née Muraca) for over 56 years, and a loving father to Agatha (Robert Licatalosi) and Ignazio (Nicolette Perrelli). He was a cherished grandfather, “Nanuzzo,” to Amelia, Christina, Joseph, Lucas, and Siena.

Filippo is lovingly remembered by his siblings Maria (late Francesco Ciardullo), Antonio (Josie Perrelli), Ines (Luigi Beltrano), and Silvana (Robert Corsini). He was predeceased by his parents, Agata (née Bozzo) and Ignazio Perrelli, and his brother Luciano. Dear son-in-law to Marietta and the late Stano Muraca, Filippo will also be dearly missed by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in Canada, Italy, and the United States.

Filippo’s gentle and kind nature, along with his appreciation for life’s little pleasures such as tending to his garden, sharing food with family, and preserving traditions at the Donnici Social Club, where he was a committee member, will always be remembered. Filippo’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renzo Mario Bartolomeo on November 28, 2024, in his 76th year, surrounded by his loving family. Renzo will be forever remembered by his devoted wife of 50 years, Angela, his children Carmelina (Riccardo), Gemma, and Christopher (Natalia), and his cherished grandchildren, Paolo, Giulia, and Sabrina.

Predeceased by his parents Riccardo and Isolina Bartolomeo, and his in-laws Gemma and Felice Russo, Renzo is also lovingly remembered by his siblings Nina (Tony) Civitareale, the late Giovanni (Emma) Bartolomeo, the late Erdere Bartolomeo, Anna (the late Luciano) Vergni, Carlo (Angioletta) Bartolomeo, and Marialuisa (Alberto) Milone. Renzo was a dear brother-in-law to Michael (Sarah) Russo and Felicia (Marc) Albanese and was adored by many nieces and nephews.

Renzo lived a life marked by compassion, hard work, and unwavering love for his family. Known for his warm smile and laughter, he brought joy to everyone he met. His legacy of kindness and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean-Marie (John) Sauvé on November 20, 2024. John has been reunited with his beloved parents, Honoré Sauvé and Pomélia (née Brunet), as well as many cherished siblings and their spouses, including Thérèse Viau (Gérard), Léonard Sauvé (Thérèse), Pomélia Lefebvre (Robert), and Léona Bathurst.

John will be lovingly remembered by his sister Gaëtane Beaudette (Wayne), his brother-in-law Charles Bathurst, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Cremation has taken place, and arrangements have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ontario. A celebration of his remarkable life will be held at a later date.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carmela Sgreccia, in her 98th year. She passed peacefully on November 24, 2024, and is now reunited with her cherished husband, Quinto (predeceased in 1988).

Carmela will be lovingly remembered by her children: Fernando (Nancy), Giannina (Dino Toscani), Tina (Angelo Lolli), and Danny (Laura). She was the adored nonna of Cinzia (Dean), Tanya (Terry), Nadia (Joseph), Cristina (Michael), Diana (George), Joshua, Adrian (Keisha), Angelina, and Nicolas. Her love extended to her cherished bisnonni: Mario, Sofia, Isabella, Zachary, Sienna, Ava, Marcus, Jacob, Georgie, Zoe, and Isla.

Born in Corinaldo, Ancona, Carmela immigrated to Canada in 1964 with her husband and their two eldest children, bringing only hope and determination for a brighter future. Later, they were blessed with two more children. Carmela was known for her tireless work ethic and devotion to family. Her passion for gardening, sewing, and her hobby farm was matched only by her love of cooking, where she created meals that brought her family together in laughter and love.

Carmela was a source of strength and inspiration, defined by her unwavering faith and selfless devotion to her family. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Ridgeview Long Term Care, where Carmela resided for the past three and a half years, and to Dr. Ralph Profetto for his exceptional care.
