1960 - 2024

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of my best friend and husband, Thomas "Tom" Allan May, on October 14th, 2024. Tom was the beloved husband of 26 years to Gayle, and a dear stepfather to Laura and Rob Ireland. He was a proud papa to Allay and Jake, who will miss him deeply.

Predeceased by his parents, Thomas M. May (1968) and Patricia May (1987), and his stepfather Bill Cuthbert (1975), Tom is survived by his brothers-in-law Donald (Audrey), Allan (Anita), and Larry (Ann), as well as Marilyn (late Rod), Britt, and Kathy Dupuis. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues at Drewlo Holdings in London.

Tom was a life member of 43 years of Branch 598 Delaware Legion, where he served as president, houseman, and held many other roles on the executive. His tremendous sense of humour, fun-loving spirit, and passion for rock music (especially AC/DC), the Toronto Maple Leafs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Nascar will never be forgotten.

Gayle expresses her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. L. Saini, Rachel, the oncology team, and the I.C.U. staff at Strathroy Hospital for their exceptional care of Tom throughout his journey.

Cremation has taken place in keeping with Tom’s wishes. A celebration of his life will be held at the Delaware Legion, Branch 598, 11557 Longwood Road, Delaware, on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, at 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory can be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario, or a charity of your choice.

Loretta will be lovingly remembered by her two cherished fur babies, Sassy and Hanna, and her siblings Marilyn, Barbara, Laura, Guy (Mary), and Denver (Brig). She was a dear aunt to nephews Craig (Jenn), Clint, Michael Jr., Christopher (Cassie), Tyler, and Josh, and nieces Tasha, Holite, Michelle, and Karmella, as well as great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Washington and Ella, and her brother Mike, Loretta leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by her family.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at University and Victoria Hospitals for the exceptional care provided to Loretta.
