James Douglas C. "Jim" Lowden passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 2, 2025, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn Lowden. Jim will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A private family graveside service will take place at Johnson Cemetery, St. Williams. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Williams United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

William James "Bill" Alexander

2025

William James "Bill" Alexander passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at PeopleCare, Tavistock, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Donna Alexander. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends will be received at Francis Funeral Home on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. A private family service will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, followed by interment at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

Mary Ropp

1935 - 2024

Mary Ropp, of Maples Home for Seniors, passed away peacefully at the Stratford Rotary Hospice on Thursday, December 5, 2024, just 17 days shy of her 89th birthday. Born on December 23, 1935, Mary was the youngest of five children to the late Michael and Barbara (Zehr) Ropp. She was an active member of East Zorra Mennonite Church and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her eleven nieces and nephews and their spouses, along with many great nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Henry Ropp, Stanley and Leona and Mary E. Ropp, Emerson and Edna Ropp, and Hilda and Floyd Kropf.

Mary worked at Stratford General Hospital for 40 years and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She also dedicated her time volunteering at the New Hamburg MCC Thrift Store and Nithview Home in New Hamburg.

Visitation will take place at Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2–5 p.m. The funeral service will be held at East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th Line, on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 2 p.m., with visitation prior to the service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to East Zorra Mennonite Church or Stratford General Hospital would be appreciated and may be made through Francis Funeral Home. Personal condolences can be shared at www.francisfh.ca.
