In Loving Memory of Sadie Rae Moggy Skippen of Green Bay, who passed away on November 11, 2024, at the Manitoulin Health Centre at the age of 86. Born on August 10, 1938, to Walter and Elsie Moggy, Rae was a kind and loving woman who cherished her family above all else.
Rae married John Skippen (predeceased) on October 12, 1956, and together they raised one child, Paul Skippen. Rae’s love and dedication to her family were unwavering, and she was immensely proud to be a grandmother to Madison and to all the other children who affectionately called her "Grandma."
Rae is survived by her son Paul (Nancy McFarlane), her grandchildren Madison Skippen, Courtney (Kevin) Pellerin, and Holly (Jon) Valad, and her great-grandchildren Seth Pellerin, Miley, Brooklyn, and Jack Valad. She was predeceased by her great-grandson Preston Pellerin.
Family and friends will gather at Island Funeral Home for a Funeral Service on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., with burial to follow in Cold Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Little Current United Church in Rae’s memory. "Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever."
Romeo John Trudeau
December 23, 1974 - October 3, 2024
In loving memory of Romeo John Trudeau, who was born on December 23, 1974, and unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 49. Romeo was the beloved father of Jade Gervais/Trudeau and a loved brother to Gabriel Scott Trudeau, Elaine Trudeau (Ed), and Janey Trudeau (Brent). He is predeceased by his brother Jacob Trudeau and his parents, Margaret Shawana and James Trudeau, along with his grandparents, Susan and John Trudeau, and Mary Jane (Big bird) and William Shawana.
Romeo is fondly remembered by his godmother, Marjorie King, and his late godfather, Wilfred Trudeau. He will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and the Wiky Health Centre staff. Known for his great sense of humour, Romeo had a talent for making everyone he encountered laugh. He enjoyed collecting things like electrical cords, chargers, and toys for his nieces and nephews, always displaying his huge heart and love for those around him. Romeo also played an important role in ceremonies as a firekeeper, offering his help wherever needed.
Family and friends will gather at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Mission on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with cremation to follow.
Justin Riley Hunter Trudeau
December 8, 1999 - October 8, 2024
In loving memory of Justin Riley Hunter Trudeau (AKA Justin Time, Fat Fats, Pretty Boy), known to his friends as Riley. Born on December 8, 1999, at 6:21 a.m., he was taken from us suddenly on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the age of 24. Justin was a loving spouse to Deyanehra Dokum and devoted father to Fall Trudeau and Laney Lavallee. He was the cherished son of Bonnie Trudeau and David Maiangowi, and baby brother to Kaitlyn, Nathan, and Terry. Justin was a proud uncle to Cameron, Kolby, and Leah, and the godfather to Kolby Trudeau.
He was blessed with loving grandparents: Josette Wahsquonaikezhik, Donald Trudeau, Gertrude Manitowabi (baa), Donald Maiangowi, and Louise Recollet (baa). Justin was a special nephew to many aunts and uncles, and his godparents were Barbara Eshkawkogan and Cory Bob. He will also be deeply missed by his many friends, including Moses P., Wiingash M., Brayden P., Sapper W., Tanner K., and many others whose lives he touched.
Justin had a contagious laugh and a humorous nature. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was known for his talents in cooking, singing, tattoo artistry, drawing, and photography. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and riding his sea-doo and electric scooter. He had a deep passion for investing in himself and his future, and he held extensive knowledge of traditional native medicines, often helping others with his energy work.
Justin’s caring and compassionate spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. He never said goodbye but would always say “Hi” when leaving, a testament to his enduring kindness. Baamaapii Kawaabmin Zaagin – "Until we meet again, I love you."
