Ian Pugsley

June 9, 1969 - February 12, 2025

Ian passed away suddenly at home in Uxbridge on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the age of 55.

Ian was a loving father and adored by his two children, Hunter and Isabella. He was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen Dinwoodie, and older brother, Craig. Ian was a loving uncle to Matthew and partner to Dawna Marie.

Ian was a great lover of music and storytelling. Growing up in Orillia and then Toronto, he had a difficult childhood that shaped him into a deeply empathetic person with a kind and generous soul. His adventurous spirit took him to many interesting places—everyone who knew him likely heard his stories of living in Russia, residing in the eccentric “Mausoleum” in Toronto with Galapagos tortoises and lemurs, and of losing his pet Nile monitor in High Park.

Ian loved to dance, was a gifted carpenter, and made friends everywhere he went. Nothing brought him more joy than becoming a father. His love for his children was immense and gave him strength and perseverance.

Ian’s life was marked with great personal struggle, but he will be remembered as a steadfast friend and outgoing spirit who made a lasting impression of kindness and encouragement on everyone who knew him.
