Beverley Ann (Patterson) Gibson

December 11, 1928 ~ December 30, 2024 (age 96)

Our Mom, Beverley Ann Gibson (nee Patterson), passed away peacefully at Winbourne Park in the early evening of December 30, 2024, shortly after her 96th birthday.

Mom was proud of her family and their accomplishments. She was an amazing, supportive mother to Dave & Barbara Gibson of Pickering, and Florence & John (2023) Davies of Port Perry. She was also a wonderful grandmother to Sam and Sarah (Anujan) Davies, and to Johanna and Samuel Gibson.

Born on December 11, 1928, in Toronto to her parents Florence (Harrison) & Gordon Patterson, Mom faced a serious case of polio at an early age, which required her to walk with the use of a brace. In her later years, she suffered from post-polio syndrome and used an electric wheelchair, which she skillfully operated.

After graduating high school, Mom worked as a bookkeeper for Bell Canada, where she developed lifelong friendships during the 1950s. She was also an accomplished crafter, selling her work at Christmas bazaars in Scarborough. Later, she turned to painting landscapes, which she shared with family and friends. Mom enjoyed many activities at Winbourne Park, particularly BINGO, where she won numerous prizes.

Predeceased by her parents Florence and Gordon Patterson (1966), her brother Les Patterson (2022), and her sister-in-law Jean Patterson (2020), Bev will be remembered for her kindness and fairness to all.

Garry Augusta Evans

January 21, 1935 ~ January 9, 2025 (age 89)

Garry Evans passed away peacefully at the Port Perry Hospital on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in his 90th year. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara. Garry is lovingly remembered by his children Rick (Ann), Ron, and Donna (Steve); his grandchildren Jeff, Megan (Evan), Cory, Tyler (Michelle), Brad (Ashley), and Darren (Ellie); and his great-grandchildren Mya, Tyson, Jayla, Beau, Billie, and Vincent. He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A private family service will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry (905-985-7331). Garry will be laid to rest at the Claremont Union Cemetery in the spring.

Cameron Graham

November 9, 1988 ~ December 7, 2024 (age 36)

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Cameron at his home in Oshawa on December 7, 2024, at the age of 36 years. Loved and never to be forgotten by his devoted parents Colin and Nancy (Moore) Graham, his dear son Casper, and Casper’s mother and Cameron’s special friend, Shanice. Cameron will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many others whose hearts he touched over the years. He leaves behind his beloved cats, Lazz and Neko.

Cameron faced many challenges from birth, but his 36 years were marked by resilience, determination, and a constant drive to set and achieve goals. Despite the obstacles he encountered, he never gave up. Cameron and his family moved to Uxbridge in 1996, where they established Thistledown Pet Memorial in 1998. With his love for animals, Cameron contributed to maintaining the lawns and trails at Thistledown.

A proud graduate of Uxbridge Public School, Uxbridge Secondary School, Durham College (twice), and Ontario Tech University, Cameron’s determination to succeed inspired those around him. Though his life was cut short, he will be remembered as a compassionate, kind soul whose presence made a difference in many lives.

Rest in peace, dear Cameron. You will always be loved and never forgotten.

Bruno Rinaldo Salvador

December 1, 1938 – December 28, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bruno Rinaldo Salvador, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on December 28, 2024, at Lakeridge Health - Port Perry. Bruno was 86 years old.

Loving husband to Lucille for 65 wonderful years, Bruno was a devoted father to Brenda (the late Joe), Debbie (Tony), Paul, and the late Vince. He was a cherished grandpa to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Son of the late Mario and Theresa, and dear brother to the late Fred and Reno, Bruno’s love and warmth extended to his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bruno’s life was defined by his love for family and the great outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, he found his joy fishing with his children and grandchildren, and hunting alongside his sons, sons-in-law, and his only grandson. The cottage in Bobcaygeon was his sanctuary, a place where family gatherings by the water brought him immense happiness. Bruno also had a green thumb and took great pride in his garden, enjoyed playing cards, and always had a soft spot for family pets.

Christmas was especially dear to Bruno, a tradition he celebrated with boundless enthusiasm. This year, after decorating his tree with his signature devotion, Bruno was blessed to spend his final Christmas at home, surrounded by the laughter and love of his family. His spirit lives on in these treasured memories.

George Emerson Postill

September 5, 1934 – December 28, 2024

POSTILL, George Emerson (retired long-time GM employee), passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. George was 90 years old.

Beloved husband of the late Joan, George was a proud and loving father to Gary (Lucette) and the late Brian (survived by his daughter-in-law Tina). He was a cherished grandfather to Tyler, Chelsea, and Brittany (Austin) Norlin, and a great-grandfather to Lettie Postill.

George will be lovingly remembered by his 11 siblings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. His warm spirit and dedication to his loved ones will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him.

John Edward Fulford

September 29, 1963 – December 26, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Edward Fulford on December 26, 2024, at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry. John passed peacefully at the age of 61, surrounded by family, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

John was the eldest son of Albert and Elizabeth Fulford, born in Port Perry, where he graduated from Port Perry High School. It was there he met the love of his life, Carol Lehane, his partner of 45 years and wife of 37 years. Their infamous "thunder-kiss" wedding in 1987 marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

Known for his strong will, compassion, and sense of humor, John was a highly respected entrepreneur and mentor. His expertise in the landscaping and snow removal industries made him an invaluable resource and leader, whose presence will be deeply missed by colleagues and friends alike.

John is survived by his loving wife, Carol, and sons Micheal (partner Hilary) and Nicholas. He will be missed by his parents Albert and Elizabeth Fulford, his in-laws Mabel and the late John Lehane, his brother Brad (Jeanette), and his nieces and nephews Jason, Ashley, and Justin, along with their families. John will also be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Susan (Jim) and nieces Megan and Allison, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and dear friends.

John’s passing leaves an unfillable void, but his legacy of love, humor, and determination will forever inspire those who knew him. His "happy place" was the family cottage on Moore Lake, where a beautiful red oak will be planted in his honor.

Janet Mae (Hillson) Middleton

July 7, 1935 - December 24, 2024

Janet Mae (Hillson) Middleton passed away peacefully at Butternut Manor in Uxbridge, Ontario, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 89. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Christine Holden (Stan) and Carolynne Cornwell (David). She was loved by her grandchildren Brian Holden (Tricia), Laura Holden (Avinash), Megan Baran-Lalonde (Christopher), and Taylor Vecchiarelli (James). Janet is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Gordon, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Janet dedicated her career to banking, beginning at Scotiabank and concluding with the Royal Bank in Markham. Summers were spent with her husband Gord at Skyline Trailer Park, enjoying the company of cherished friends Hank and Donna, Heinz and Frauka, Jerry and Sharon, Gord and Nova, and Mike and Marlyn. Seeking a close-knit community, Janet and Gord relocated from Markham to Uxbridge in 1993. Both were active members of the Uxbridge Seniors Centre, where they found joy in playing shuffleboard and lawn bowling.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff and friends at Butternut Manor for making Janet's final three years enjoyable and memorable.

Francis "Frank" Greenshields MacPhail

May 11, 1940 - November 28, 2024

Born in Rothesay, Scotland, Frank MacPhail passed away on November 28, 2024, in Uxbridge, Ontario, at the age of 84. A devoted father to Karen, John (Volk), Christine, Carl (Gallant), and Andrea, Majid (Samadi). Loving Poppa to Jessica, John-Francis, Jordan, Sarah, Hazel, Samantha, and Sophia, and Great-Grandad to Maddy and John-Collyn.

Joining his parents John and Euphemia, his brother Mac MacPhail, and his sisters Jean Milner, Effie Bell, and Nettie Purdie in Heaven, he leaves behind his wee sister Christine Morrison, cousins Eileen and Lynne, and many nieces and nephews in England, Scotland, and abroad.

Frank and his beloved wife Hazel, married for 45 years, emigrated from England to Canada in search of a better life, raising three daughters in the Don Mills area. They created countless cherished memories, from festive dinners with the Morrison family to weekend adventures at Petticoat Creek.

Frank was a carpenter for the Toronto Board of Education and a lover of the water, happiest when sailing the Alena II or camping in remote locations. He encouraged his family to embrace all things Canadian—cheering for the Maple Leafs, ice skating, and cross-country skiing.

A devoted grandfather, Poppa brought joy to his grandchildren by building swings in the house, constructing elaborate forts, and making bath time an adventure. Known for his humor and resourcefulness, Frank retrofitted special needs equipment and welcomed Sunnybrook Hospital friends every Halloween.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at Douglas Crossing, especially Loretta and Madison Finney, as well as Rahim Wolfe from Carius Homecare, for their kindness and companionship.

Josephine "Jo" Ann (Lasita) Campbell

December 15, 1935 - December 23, 2024

Josephine "Jo" Ann Campbell passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa, on December 23, 2024, at the age of 89. She will be forever missed by her loving spouse Barry. Cherished by her dear children Margaret, Virginia (Kevin), Bryan, Sara, and Barry. Loving Grandma to Zachary (Laura), Josh (Samantha), Erin (Corey), Emily, Brendan, Taylor, Avery, and Ivy. Great Grandma (aka Grammy) to Natalie, Logan, Madeleine, Blayke, Evelyn, Luna, Kendall, and Travis. Josephine will always be remembered by her brother Sal (Rose) and her sister-in-law Jan. Reunited in heaven with her parents, Rocco and Vincenza, and her brother Joe.

Jo was passionate about her family and friends and will be held dearly in their hearts. In addition to her love of family, she will be remembered for her love of cars, long trail walks, weekends at the casino, and sun-and-sand Florida vacations. If music was playing, Jo would surely be dancing up a storm.

Her family is eternally grateful to Hillsdale Estates Long Term Care in Oshawa for the love, care, and attention they provided to Jo during her stay.

Johanna "Yoka" (Binnekamp) Lobbezoo

June 12, 1930 – December 18, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Johanna "Yoka" Lobbezoo on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the age of 94. She passed away at her Bloomington Cove home, surrounded by love.

Born on June 12, 1930, in Utrecht, the Netherlands, Yoka was part of a large and loving family that included her twin sister, three older sisters, and a younger brother. In 1956, she married her beloved husband Joost, with whom she raised two sons.

Yoka was a passionate gardener and avid reader, spending many joyful hours among her bookshelves and volunteering at the local library. Her love of nature led to memorable family summers spent camping in the Alps and embarking on extended mountain hiking expeditions.

In the early 1980s, Yoka and her family moved to Canada, settling in Markham. Yoka worked for many years at a childcare center, where she brought warmth and care to children. After retiring, she and Joost enjoyed traveling across the continent with their dogs and visiting family in the West. Every year, Yoka cherished the time spent with her twin sister, either traveling across the ocean or hosting visits in turn.

Following the passing of her husband in 2000, Yoka moved to Uxbridge to be closer to her family. Known for her strong and independent spirit, she enjoyed walking around town, visiting friends and family, and volunteering. On Sundays, Yoka worshipped at the Baptist Church, where her faith in Jesus Christ was a central part of her life. She imparted this legacy of faith to her children and four grandchildren.

For several years, Yoka lived with family in a private suite lovingly built by her grandsons. While progressing dementia eventually required more care, her family treasures the years of closeness and memories shared.

A Funeral Service will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home – Uxbridge Chapel (23 Main Street South, Uxbridge) on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Markham, and a reception will take place at Low & Low Funeral Home.
