Isabel Mary Fairbarn (Doyle)

Sunday, January 24th, 1937 - Sunday, December 8th, 2024

Isabel Mary Fairbarn (Doyle) passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernard Fairbarn.

Loving mother of Rick (Verna) Fairbarn and special grandmother to Jonathan Derek (Shelly) and Sarah Ann. She was a proud and dear great-grandmother to Grim and Logan. Isabel was a cherished aunt to Leroy (Jen) Arthur and Tammy Arthur. Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Helen Doyle, as well as her sister, June Arthur, Isabel will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

A private family interment will take place at a later date. Isabel's family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Southlake Regional Health Centre in her memory.

Arlene Vida Warvill

July 24, 1960 - December 1, 2024

It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Arlene Vida Warvill (nee Horan). With family by her side, Arlene passed peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Sunday, December 1, 2024.

Arlene loved to read, to be near the water, and to spend time enjoying her gardens. Above all, Arlene’s family was her greatest joy. Arlene loved, and was loved by her husband Mark, her children Amanda (Ken), Lacie (Mike), Shawn (Nicole), and her grandchildren Hailey, Emmett, Payton, Felix, Shea, Chloe, and Mara. Arlene was predeceased by her parents Carl and Thora (Jones) Horan. She will be missed by her younger siblings Janice (predeceased Garry), Janeen (Paul), and Earl (Sherry), along with her mother-in-law Opal (predeceased John) and siblings-in-law Cathy, Beth (Mel), Margaret (Steve), and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene maintained a positive mindset and strong will in facing the challenges Multiple Sclerosis presented her. She didn’t allow her disease and disability to stop her from pursuing her goals and enjoying her life. Charitable donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their great care and expertise. Thank you to the many family and friends for their messages of love and support.

A private service will be held. All family and friends are invited to join us for a celebration of life to take place on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Beaverton Royal Canadian Legion.

William John Clough

January 15, 1954 - November 30, 2024

Clough: William John. Passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2024. Bill will be dearly missed by his wife Marilyn. Cherished father of Fred (Michael), Jimmy (Ashley), and pre-deceased by his daughter Jenny. Special grandpa of David, Brooklyn, Oliver, and Autumn. He was pre-deceased by his brother Robert. Bill will be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Brechin Legion on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. If so desired, memorial donations in memory of Bill to the Brechin Legion for families in need would be appreciated by the family.

Despite the challenges Multiple Sclerosis brought into her life, Arlene maintained a positive mindset and strong will, never letting her condition prevent her from enjoying her life to the fullest. Russell Donald Stewart

April 29, 1959 - November 27, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russell “Rusty” Stewart at Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Rusty was predeceased by his parents, Russell Stewart Sr. and Mary Stewart (Scott). He is survived by his brothers, Danny Smith (Sandra) and Patrick Smith. Rusty was a proud uncle to Stephen Smith, Robin Harris, Sherry Smith (Ron), Tanya Smith (Sean), Sheldon Smith, Nicole Smith, and Grant Smith; a beloved cousin to Jerret and Curtis Stewart (Michelle); and a cherished nephew of Pearl Dwhytie (Graham). Rusty was also an amazing cat dad to Bandita for 22 years.

Known for his infectious laughter and his ability to bring joy to everyone he met, Rusty was truly the life of the party. He lived life on his own terms and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Brechin, followed by a celebration of life at the Brechin Legion. Details will be announced at a later time.

Peter Joseph Gallagher

Tuesday, October 17th, 1933 - Saturday, November 23rd, 2024

It is with much sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Joseph Gallagher on November 23, 2024, at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, at the age of 91. Born in England, Peter was the beloved son of Thomas and Grace Gallagher and is deeply mourned by his wife Maureen, with whom he had just celebrated 64 years of marriage on November 5th.

Peter will be greatly missed by his children Sean (Ann), Siobhan, and Roderick (Linda); his 14 grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew), Shannon (Bryan), Colleen (Mickey), Thomas (Jessica), Patrick (Taila), Kathleen (Cein), Fiona (Mateo), Sebastian, Simon (Becky), Daniel, Maria, Eva, Ella, and Elizabeth; and his 13 great-grandchildren, Veronica, Vanessa, Noah, Nicholas, Brinnley, Silas, Kiera, Dominic, Lorelei, Jana, Wolfgang, Sytska, and Sibilla. He is also survived by his older sister Amelia, with whom he shared cherished memories of their lives in England during World War II.

Peter led a remarkable life filled with varied interests and vocations, including soldier, Special Education teacher, factory worker, and insurance agent. Alongside his wife Maureen, he built boats, collected antique firearms, and competed in Cowboy Action matches across Canada and the U.S.A. He was also a prolific writer, having published 12 novels, including "The Pinfire Lady" series, and over 20 articles for The Journal of the Royal Artillery.

Peter emigrated to Canada in 1959, where he met Maureen at a New Year’s Eve party and proposed just a week later. They settled in Woodville, Ontario, where they have lived for the past 37 years. Peter's witty conversations and love for people will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Mangan Funeral Home, 332 Osborne St., Beaverton, Ontario, on Thursday, November 28th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, November 29th, 2024, at 10:30am at St. Anthony's Catholic Mission Church, 124 Nappadale St., Woodville, ON. A reception will follow at the Kirkfield District Lions Club, 973 Portage Rd., Kirkfield, ON.

Percy James Steele

Wednesday, April 26th, 1933 - Monday, November 18th, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Percy James Steele on Monday, November 18th, 2024, at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, surrounded by his loving family. Percy lived a fulfilling and hardworking life, dedicating 35 years of service to the Government of Ontario in construction before enjoying an additional 15 years at Beamish Construction following his retirement.

Percy was the beloved husband of Jean (Mitchell) Steele, sharing 69 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Jim (Valarie) Steele, Garry (Marj) Steele, Jack (Julie) Steele, and Ann (Stan) Zerdin. Percy was a cherished grandfather to Terra (Jeff) Telford, Daryl (Amy) Steele, Mike (Stacie) Steele, Dan (Cara) Steele, Laura (Dillon) Wittick, Ali Steele-Lukas (James) Lukas, Jill (Shane) Adams, and Ryan (Trish) Steele. He was a proud great-grandfather to Noah and Ava Telford, Autumn Steele, Alex and Jacob Steele, Emery and John Steele, Harvey and Daxton Wittick, Eli and Delilah Adams, and Violet Steele.

Predeceased by his parents, Roy and Belle Steele, his brother Ernest, sister-in-law Mary, sister Bernice, brother-in-law Doug Erskine, sister Jean, brother-in-law Bob Huddleston, and brother-in-law Lorne Coulter, Percy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends.

Cathy Loraine Beers (nee Smith)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Cathy Loraine Beers (nee Smith) on November 14th, 2024, at the age of 73. Cathy passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

Predeceased by her parents, Stanley Smith of Halkirk, AB, and Wilma Smith (Lorne Wright) of Leduc, AB, formerly of Beaverton, ON, Cathy was the loving oldest sister to Connie Cooper (Lee), Carolyn Inkster, Candace Heuser (Chuck), Peter, and Cecil. She is predeceased by her siblings Cherie Smith and Charlene Smith.

Cathy was a devoted wife to Bryan for 55 years, a proud mother to Kerri-Ann (Joe) Cramer, and Kristi Beers. She was also a loving mother-in-law to the late Scott. She cherished her role as grandmother to Daniel (Brittany), Brett (Samantha), Jared, and Josh, and great-grandmother to Isabella and Alexander. Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her extended family, friends, and neighbors for her warmth and generosity.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ross Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place, and a service to honor Cathy’s life will be announced at a later date.
