It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Evelyn Christie in her home at the admirable age of 102 and a half. Reunited with her late partner, Leopold Lindo. Proud and blessed Mammie to Sybil (Roy), Dorothy (Allen), Violet, Leslie, and Joy. Beloved grandmother to 19 grandchildren. Cherished great-grandmother to 38 great-grandchildren and blessed great great-grandmother to 11 great great-grandchildren. Evelyn who was also affectionally known as Aunt Coolie to her great niece and nephews will be dearly missed by all her extended family and friends.

Evelyn was the last of her siblings and the matriarch of the family. Her joyful humour and bright smile were all that was needed to perk up a gloomy day. She loved to sing and dance anytime she had the opportunity to. She was a devoted Christian, going to church, listening to gospel music, reading her bible and always had a prayer for everyone. Evelyn loved to wear her hats especially the fancy ones to church.  She also enjoyed reggae music from time to time. She was an excellent cook who would cook some tasty meals
especially her salt fish fritters. We are so incredibly grateful to have had her in our lives for as long as we did. Loving and missing you forever and always Mammie.
