SAVILLE, Gordon David  -  Born September 21, 1940 died peacefully June 27, 2024 at the Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital surrounded by his devoted family.

Survived by his wife Linda, his 3 beloved children and spouses, Terry (Nancy), Lisa (Al Clutton) and Tim (Annie), 9 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren, with one more on the way.

He’ll be dearly missed by his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynda & Willy VanDoleweerd, Gay & Brian Fletcher and their families. Predeceased by his parents Gordon & Helen Saville and his brother Jim Harvey.

He retired as a Detective from Metro Toronto Police Force, MSS in 1993, fondly referred to as 54 there, with 33.5 years service.

Dave has resided in Ajax, ON since 1967, a natural social butterfly, loving his food, fun and friends.

Visitation is at McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village, Ajax, ON, on Wednesday, July 3rd from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service is on Thursday, July 4th at 11:00 a.m. in their Chapel, followed by Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 305 Erskine Avenue, Toronto, ON.

SPENCER, Wayne William Spencer  -  It is with heavy heart we announce the sudden death of Wayne Spencer (Virgo), on Monday June 24, 2024 at age 50.

He was full of love, laughter and energy.

He touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be forever remembered for his kindness, and impact in the world.

He was predeceased by His mother Irene Giles.

Wayne leaves behind ex-spouse Michelle Hawkins (Liam, Riley) and Ritschel family members. His sister Tammy and great nephew Dominic, nephew Jason (Olivia), and niece Keira (Jordan).

Father Jonathan (Gloria) their children Justin (Ashley), Tania (Thomas) and all his nieces and nephews.

To the many friends and those he worked with and people who knew him...

HEMPHILL, Joanne Bernice “ Tammy “ (nee Diduch) Hemphill   -
23-Aug-1957 - 20-Jun-2024

Passed away suddenly on June 20 , 2024 at her cottage in the presence of her loving husband David and her sister Janice.

Tammy, as she was known to most , leaves behind David, her mother Carole Diduch (nee Roy), her siblings Linda ( Bob ), Janice ( Jim ), Julie ( Paul ) , Teri ( Tish ) and Tricia ( Andrew). Sadly Tammy was predeceased by her father Joseph Diduch and her sister Christine (Andy).

Tammy also leaves behind her many nieces and nephews. cousins, aunts, uncles and a large community of friends and associates that she has met over the years.

Tammy was born in Blind River Ontario and grew up in Sudbury. After finishing college in the Law and Administration course she pursued a career in the Insurance Industry.

Tammy had a very successful and fulfilling career starting with Royal Insurance in Sudbury and Ottawa and then moving to the GTA with Western Assurance.

In 1995 Tammy went to work at the Facility Association (FA) in Toronto and she was employed there until her retirement in 2022.

Tammy was a compliance auditor with FA and she obtained great satisfaction from her role which prior to the outbreak of Covid took her all over Canada on various audits. She has also involved for a time with the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association as a member of their executive.

An accomplished piano player she loved to play and to compose songs for friends and family on special occasions. She loved the outdoors and she was a long-time member of the Scarborough Cross Country Ski club, long-time member of the Goodlife club and an avid walker and for the last 18 years she had been regularly walking with her dear friend and neighbour Karen. Cooking, entertaining, doing puzzles, playing cards, crosswords and spending time at the cottage was what brought joy to Tammy.

She was a nurturing and selfless woman and she carried herself with the highest degree of dignity and grace, however she could still giggle like a teenager when certain events occurred.

Following her cremation the family invites you to join them on Friday September 6, 2024 for a celebration of Tammy’s life. The celebration will take place from 1pm – 4pm at the West Rouge Community Centre, 270 Rouge Hills Drive, Scarborough, Ontario M1C 2Z2.

In lieu of flowers Tammy would be happy if you made a donation to the charity of your choosing.

IWASZCZENKO, Raymond Iwaszczenko   -
17-Nov-1967 - 16-Jun-2024

Passed away in his home in Toronto on June 16, 2024 at the age of 56, leaving many with broken hearts.

Son of Mary Dwyer, son of George Iwaszczenko, brother to Paul Iwaszczenko, and long-time partner of Sylvia Villegas.

He was the oldest of 28 grandchildren, nephew to 10 aunts and uncles and their partners.

Raymond was loved by everyone. With his infectious smile and bright eyes he made so many wonderful friends.

He lived his life fully with great joy from tour guide in the Yukon to trekking in Nepal.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to a local animal rescue or a charity of your choice.

WOOD, Carol Anne Wood  -
1961 – 2024

Born on April 8th, 1961, Carol was the best partner, mom, grandma, and sister anyone could ask for and lived a life with a generous heart and hand.

Carol left us on June 15th, 2024 with her family by her side. he leaves behind her husband Scott, and her two daughters Andrea, and Karen (Graham), and her four grandchildren Elliott (13), Lily-Anne (6), Alexander (2), and Connor (2). Her grandchildren meant everything to her, and she enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.

Carol is survived by her sister Suzanne, her brother Andrew (Donna), her sister Cathleen (Bill) and her sister Karen (David) and her nieces and nephews Christine (Chad), Sandi, William, Vanessa (James), Ryan, Eric, and Emily.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sandra, her father George, and her Uncle Bill who welcome her in heaven.

Carol was eternally giving and spent her life supporting those around her. She had a sharp mind and was extremely clever. She was an avid reader and in her younger years she was blessedly full of life and planned many adventures including white water rafting, and horseback riding.

She will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax, (647-556-5705), on Wednesday, June 26th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 26th at 2:00 p.m

BOWEN, Mervyn Kent  -  Merv passed away peacefully on June 24th.

Born in Ottawa, he lived a full life placing a value on family and friends.

He was a loving, dedicated husband to Lois, a devoted father to Tracey (Greg) and Neil (Allana).

His grandchildren Antonio, Alessandro, Grace and Georgia, were his greatest pride and joy. He loved taking the boys swimming and playing ball in park when they were young.

As they matured into young men, he enjoyed talking about the previous night’s Leafs or Jays game over a beer or a cognac.

He loved his family and spending time together was his passion.

Merv could make people laugh both with his jokes and his antics. He enriched the lives of every person he met.

His legacy of love, laughter, and integrity will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

PECKFORD Margaret Renett Hurley Peckford   -  Born October 15, 1944 on Change Islands, NL to the late Mabel Hurley (nee Hoffe) and Alonzo Hurley.

Margaret peacefully passed away on June 22, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Raymond, Terry, Arthur, Bert and Eric.

At the age of 18, this daughter of a Merchant Marine Sailor left her home of Change Islands in 1964.

She worked with the Toronto District School Board as a Teacher’s Assistant for 20 years and while spending her time in the classroom, she was also busy fulfilling her love of being a mom and wife.

Beloved wife of the late Morley Peckford (2017) of over 52 years and survived by her children Steve Peckford (Carol-Anne), and Jennifer Lake (Kyle).

Grandchildren Bailey, Mackenzie, Abigail and Noah.  Siblings Bond, Rose, Sue, and Theresa.

HOGAN, Imelda Marie Hogan  -  The family is saddened to announce the passing of Imelda (Millie) in her 93rd year on Sunday June 23, 2024 with her family by her side.

Imelda was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend Mike. Cherished mother to Peter (Karen), Ron (Peggy), Dave (Yvonne) and Lynda (Martin). Beloved Nana to Sean (Karen), Erin (Chris), James (Michelle), Jeremy (Ashley), Katelyn (Brandon), Stacey (Bryan) and Christopher. Affectionately called GG by her 4 great grandchildren Brylee, Aubrey, Nathan and Thomas. Adoringly remembered by all her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and fabulous neighbours.

Love of family was a sustaining foundation of her life, mom loved visits from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, seeing them would light up her life.

After retiring from State Farm Insurance in 1996, Mom enjoyed her long walks, travelling, playing golf and Wine Wednesdays. Mom was known as a practical joker and quick wit throughout her life. Up until her very last days.

Imelda will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.

Imelda’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Douglas Crossing Retirement home for the amazing care and love they showed to our mother and family.

HACHETT, Vincent Hatchett   -  Passed away peacefully, on June 22,2024.

He was the son of the late William and Mary Hatchett of Niagara Falls, New York (NY) and was preceded by his two brothers William and Herbert Hatchett.

Vincent attended the local Niagara Falls schools.

He is survived by his wife Faith and his children Tyce, Laila and Kyle Hatchett; his sisters, Flora Roundtree of Anderson, South Carolina; Mary Walker, Nancy and Tina Hatchett of Niagara Falls, NY and brothers Eugene Hatchett of Atlanta, Georgia and Robert Xavier of Miami, Florida and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

WEBSTER, Herbert Grant  Webster  -  Passed away in his home on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 83.

Husband of Monica, Father of Kathryn (Dave) Zufelt and Tracey (Steve) Pibworth, Grandfather of Braden Zufelt and Meagan Pibworth, Brother of John, Alison, and the late Hutson.

At Grant's request, there will be no visitation.

A private interment of his ashes will take place at a later date.
