Irene Mangov (nee: Kindos) passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Providence Health Care. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Mangov. Loving mother to Louis (Margaret), Jim (Yannique), and Suzy (Dan) Giorshev.

Loving Baba to Sophia, Lucas, Megan, Sarah, and Alexander. Irene will also be deeply missed by her sisters Lea (Peter) Terzis and Helen Christidis.

Irene was known for her beautiful and warm smile, her compassion, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind cherished memories that will be held dear by all who knew her.

Asunta Eileen Fernando

November 17, 1939 - January 11, 2025

Asunta Eileen Fernando is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Alphonse Fernando; her children, Sharmila (Neil) and Manoj (Yelitza); and her five cherished grandchildren: Shania, Shane, Ashan, Caelen, and Sofia. Born to JHB and Susamma Fernando, Asunta was a beloved member of a large and close-knit family, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, and friends across the globe.

Asunta brought joy to many lives with her quick wit, sense of humor, love for music and dance, and mastery in the kitchen. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting legacy of love and laughter.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Lakeridge Health in Ajax for their exceptional care during Asunta's final months.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1001 Ravenscroft Road, Ajax, ON L1T 4X1.

Wendy Mae Pratt

April 11, 1955 - January 9, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our incredible mom, Wendy Mae Pratt, at the age of 69. Wendy was a proud and loving mother to her daughter Lindsay Bovolaneas and husband Donny, and her son Kevin Pratt and girlfriend Katie Van Pelt. Born and raised in Toronto, Wendy later made Durham Region her home, where she worked and lived throughout her adult life.

Wendy’s infectious laugh, warm smile, impeccable sense of style, and heartfelt embraces will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She cherished family gatherings around the dinner table, enjoyed her coffee, and found joy in listening to Elvis and music from the 60s and 70s. Wendy’s vibrant personality and kindheartedness left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate to be in her circle.

Wendy will be deeply missed by her family, including her sister and brother-in-law, her nieces and nephews, her extended family, and her many friends.

Bonnie Vera Buksa

April 4, 1941 - January 8, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bonnie Vera Buksa (nee Bell), who left us on January 8, 2025, surrounded by love after a brief illness.

Bonnie has been reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Wayne, her son David, and son-in-law Chris Kyles. She is survived by her daughter Deneane Kyles (Brad Cameron), her granddaughters Kaela Grozelle (Mike) and Kassandra McFaul (Skyler), and her five great-grandchildren, CJ, Callan, Jaxon, Parker, and Audrina.

Bonnie is also survived by David’s family, including daughter-in-law Toni, his stepdaughters Jess (Al), Nicki (Mike), Angie (Jason), and his grandchildren Zoe, Jace, Gio, and Nixon.

Bonnie will be greatly missed by her sister Kathie MacDougall (Len), her brothers Bill Pullen (Deborah) and Ted Pullen (Mary), her brother-in-law Alex Buksa (Sharon), and her best friends Terry and Susan Smith.

She was a beloved aunt to Dale, Mike (Maggie), Ian, Chad, and Samantha (Eric), and a great-aunt to seven great-nieces and nephews.

Bonnie brought joy to everyone who knew her. She was a loving and caring mother, nana, and great-nana. She took great pride in raising her children and loved spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Ruthlin Cayman

December 26, 1943 - January 8, 2025

In loving memory of Ruthlin Cayman, affectionately known as Ruby or Dube, who was born in Jamaica on December 26, 1943. Ruthlin was the beloved daughter of the late Ethel and John Cayman.

She leaves behind her sister Elsie and brother-in-law Lawrence; brothers Frank and Stanley; and sister-in-law. She will also be deeply missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, including her niece Charmaine, great-nephew Jordon, and great-niece Narissa.

Ruthlin moved to Canada in 1974, where she spent most of her adult life. She was known for her joyful personality, always smiling and joking. Ruthlin loved her family dearly and was generous and loving to everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Elva Correia. Born in Georgetown, Guyana, on August 23, 1928, Elva passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, at her home in Pickering, Ontario.

Loving wife of the late Michael Philip Correia and devoted mother of Rosalie (Heinz), Keith (late Marilyn), Elizabeth (Paul), Jennifer (John), Susanne, and Paul (Pauline). Cherished grandmother to 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Loving daughter to her parents, John and Ursula DeFreitas. Predeceased by her sister Elaine and her brothers Randy, Romeo (Elaine), Jerome, and John. Also predeceased by her sister-in-law Gertrude (James) and brothers-in-law Clement (Celeste) and Stephen (Cecelia). Elva had tremendous love for her many nieces and nephews.

Elva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who loved her family deeply. She worked tirelessly to provide her family with a loving home and excellent cooking, which she passed down. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Mila Marcos for the tremendous care and comfort she provided to Elva over the past four and a half years.

Brenda Trickett passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 10, 2025, in Oshawa, Ontario. Brenda is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, John.

Loving Mum to Kathryn and Neil (Lucille). Cherished Grandma to Trevor (Jenn), John (Elizabeth), Katy (Neil), and Sarah (Kevin). Proud Great Grandmother (G.G.) to Norah, Anna, Callan, and Lilah. Brenda will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends.

Fe Ocampos Daguman

January 13, 1939 – January 9, 2025

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Fe Ocampos Daguman, fondly known as Lola Guapa, on January 9, 2025, at the age of 85 in Ajax, Ontario.

Lola Bebie, or Mommy Fe, was admired for her glamorous and dainty looks. She taught the value of self-care and inspired everyone with her signature red lips and impeccable hairstyle. Beyond her striking appearance, Lola Fe was a beautiful and resilient soul, known for her kindness, care, and generosity. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, inspiring all with her strength in facing life’s challenges.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Atty. Jose B. Daguman, her parents Jose Ocampos and Celirina Amoroso, and siblings Delfin, Caridad, and Josefina. She was also predeceased by her daughter Josephine, daughter-in-law Nimfa, and grandchildren Kerabell, Jocelyn, and Jason. Fe is survived by her children Allan (Rutsy), Josefe (Alex Manaloto), Jose Jr., Julius Sr. (Sonia Heuvel), Joahnna (Conrad Mejia), Joseph (Elena Tangara), and Jocelyn (Arkie Batua), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her cherished furry and feathered companions Zico and Mochi.

Her siblings Luz, Eliza, and Concisa (Lincon), along with extended family and friends from Kolambugan, Ozamis, Cebu, Iligan, Pagadian, Mandaluyong, Manila, Edmonton, and Calgary, will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Donations in Fe’s memory may be made to Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering Hospital Foundation, Campfire Circle, or OPACC in honor of her grandson Jason Mejia (2016).

It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Morton announces his passing on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Winbourne Park in Ajax. Predeceased by his late wife Patricia Morton.

Victor will be dearly missed by their children Margaret, Kevin (Patricia), Tim, Ellen (Dave), Donna (Greg), Denise, Alannah (Blair), Joanne (John), and Tom (Suzanne); grandchildren Shelagh, Patrick, Caolan, Jennifer, Jarrod, Oliver, Hailey, Douglas, Erin, Connor, Michael, Jeffrey, Lindsay, Kyla, Zachary, Caleb, Arianna, Jordan, Julia, Jacqueline, and Cassandra; as well as 31 great-grandchildren. Victor will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, and retired from Dominion Stores in 1981 as a Buyer. He loved traveling the world with his wife, Patricia, and friends. An avid golfer, sports enthusiast, and lover of dance, Victor embraced life to the fullest.

Elaine Dunn

May 11, 1924 - January 7, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elaine Dunn, surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. At 100 years of age, Elaine was the beloved wife of 60 years and best friend of Frank Mervin Dunn, who passed in 2011. Elaine was the wonderful mother of Stephen (Linda Rume), Frank (Joanne), Cathy Mullan (Jim), Susan (Erroll Lundy), and Edward (Marie Caza), and the late Gregory Thomas Dunn. She was a treasured grandmother of Adam (Shin), Andrew (Hailey Black), Alan (Pam), Sean, Michael (Christine Gibson), and Warren (Gabrielle Parsons) and a great-grandmother of Lukas, Ryder, Meredith, and Emilia.

Elaine is also survived by her sister Margaret Schmidt (Chuck) of California and her sisters-in-law Ramona Lahey, Rosemary Lafreniere, and Helen Hillier, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Lillian Lahey and her siblings Bert, Barney, and Bill Lahey, Betty Groff, Martha Rutherford, and Nancy Bayer.

Elaine was raised in Midland, Ontario, and on the family farm in Port McNichol. When the Second World War broke out, she joined the effort by moving to Toronto to work at the York Arsenal and De Havilland Aircraft. Throughout her life, people were drawn to her pleasant and positive attitude, which she kept even to the end. Family was always first.

The family would like to thank the staff of Westney Gardens Retirement Residence, where Elaine lived since 2018, and the doctors, nurses, and PSWs of 2 East at the Ajax Pickering Hospital and 4 West at Lakeridge Health Whitby.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation or Serenity Renewal for Families (a charity founded by Elaine’s sister-in-law, Sister Louise Dunn, CND).
