Walter was a man of few words and rare smiles, but if you asked him about fishing or gardening, he could tell you anything you needed to know.
Forever the scholar, he achieved his BaSC at the age of 60 from Trent University.
At Walter’s request, there will be no funeral service—he was never one for fuss or a party.
Hope you are trying to catch that rainbow trout that got away, with Chris and Tyler cheering you on.
Make sure you wear those red socks.
Life is hard, but at least you don’t have ugly children.

Koch, Gunter Helge, passed away peacefully after a brief illness with his family at his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Helge was the beloved husband of the late Theresa and a loving father to Harald (Michaela). He was also a supportive stepfather to Diana-Lynn (Bjarne), Kelly-Ann (Brian), Tina, Wendy, and Jennifer.
Helge was a proud grandfather to Charlotte, Gareth, Jordan, and Mark, and a supportive influence in the lives of Brianna and Dalton. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends.
Helge was a dedicated physician at Toronto General Hospital for many years. He had a passion for travel and loved the feeling of the wind in his hair while riding his motorcycle.
A special thank you to the staff in the CCU at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their wonderful care and support. The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the in-home care team for their dedication, kindness, and professionalism. Your support made a difference in Helge’s life, and we truly appreciate everything you did.

After a brief illness, John Wolters of Oshawa passed away on January 31, 2025.
Beloved son of the late Herman and Minnie (Dibbits). Dear brother of Tina and brother-in-law of Jim Yip. Proud uncle of Darren (Rebecca), Kevin, and Carolyn (Andrew). He also leaves behind cousins in Ontario and the Netherlands.
John grew up in the Eastern Townships of Quebec before later settling in Pickering and Willowdale, Ontario. He always had a love for the outdoors and cherished time spent with his friends.
He will be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, trustworthiness, and caring nature, along with his keen sense of humor. John will be forever missed by his family and friends.
As per John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, after a long illness, Paul Douglas Morris passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, with his loving wife Marion by his side.
Born in Toronto, Paul spent his entire career at Maple Leaf Gardens, working in the sound department and serving as the Public Address Announcer for the Toronto Maple Leafs for 38 years. His voice was a familiar and beloved presence for countless fans.
Paul will be greatly missed by Marion (née Price), his devoted wife of 52 years, as well as Marion’s sister, Pat Nowell, and Pat’s daughter Vicki Nowell (Khalid Moomand). He is also survived by his cousin Diane (Larry Amos) and their families, along with the daughters and families of his late cousin Ted Farewell. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Dorothy (née Farewell) Morris, his sister Linda Morris (December 13, 2024), and his cousin Ted Farewell.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a later date.

Brian Albert Finnimore was born on January 28, 1964, in Selkirk, Manitoba, the fourth of five children to Harry (Albert) and Jean. He passed away on February 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones near and far.
Brian is predeceased by his parents and is lovingly remembered by his wife, Tracie; his children Brianna (Ryan), Jackson, and Maggie; and his siblings Sharon, Susan (George), Barry (Lynn), and Shauna (Robert). He will also be deeply missed by his mother- and father-in-law, Carolyn and Ross Pawson; his sister-in-law Lisa (Greg); his many nieces and nephews; and his extended relatives and friends.
Growing up in rural Manitoba, Brian loved baseball, fishing with his dad, and road trips camping across the country. He lived from Vancouver to Moncton and had a long career in the travel and IT industries. A passionate traveler, he visited many countries, with Boston being a favorite destination.
Brian was gregarious, charming, nostalgic, and always eager to learn. He was deeply engaged in his community, coaching soccer and hockey and contributing his time and skills to the church. A devoted sports fan, he cheered for the Boston Bruins, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Houston Astros, and he had a special love for curling.
Above all, Brian was most proud of his children: Brianna, Jackson, and Maggie. He was grateful to celebrate their high school graduations and to witness Brianna’s marriage to Ryan.
Brian's legacy of generosity continues with his selfless contribution to medical research through the donation of his brain and spinal column to aid in the study of Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD).
