de BEAUPRE, Eugene Francis Antony de Beaupre
February 12, 1925 - April 29, 2024.

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of beloved Gene, at the Sunnybrook Veterans Center in Toronto.

Gene served his country honorably as a member of the Canadian Air Force in World War II, demonstrating unwavering dedication to duty. After the war, he worked at Bell Telephone Company of Canada until his retirement in 1984.

Eugene’s commitment extended beyond family and career. For 43 years, he was a steadfast member of the Masonic fraternity. He held numerous esteemed positions including Worshipful Master of both Birch Cliff Lodge (1990) and Zeredatha Lodge (1994), and Grand Registrar of the Province of Ontario for the Grand Lodge of Canada (2011).

Also, he held distinguished positions as a member of Ramses Shriners Oshawa and District Club and the Philalethes Society. His joy stemmed from the camaraderie and mentorship he shared with his fellow brothers. His tireless commitment focused on fostering fellowship, personal growth, and service to others, all with the aim of making a positive impact on society.

Gene’s exuberant spirit was evident in his response to inquiries about his well-being: a resounding “150%!” His witty one-liners brought laughter to everyone, and his infectious positivity left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. Those fortunate enough to know him will deeply miss him.

He is survived by his sister JoAnne, stepchildren Robert and Carolyn, daughter Jan, and sons-in-law Greg, Dan, and Dennis. Gene was a grandfather and great-grandfather to many, including Scott (wife Kerri), Courtney, Taylor, Benjamin, and Oliver. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Audrey de Beaupre, stepdaughter Linda, sons Frank and Michael, daughter Marie Rosen, siblings Paul, Remi, Marie and Richard, and parents Louise and Paul. Gene will be dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews, especially Debbie, Diane, and Remi, as well as extended family, friends and co-workers.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre for their compassionate care during Gene’s stay.

In honoring Gene’s memory, let us continue his legacy of service and fellowship.

May his light shine brightly in our hearts as we carry forward his dedication to others.

A Celebration of Gene’s Life will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, Ontario. Family and friends are invited to come and share memories and stories.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request you donate to Sunnybrook HSC Veterans Program Centre, Birch Cliff Lodge or Zeredatha Lodge
