Donald Ralph Meikle
October 22, 1927 - October 12, 2024
Born on October 22nd, 1927, at home in Toronto, Ontario, Donald Ralph Meikle lived a full and vibrant life. He passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2024, just shy of his 97th birthday. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Louise (Snider), his parents, Roy and Ethel, and his brothers, Harold and Gordon. He leaves behind his daughters, Kathleen and Nancy, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Robert Schnurr, Brittany (Schnurr) Ykema, and Carina Mousseau.
Don was a man of many passions, including magic, stamp and coin collecting, sports, cards, and puzzles. His love for bowling and pool lasted well into his 90s. An active member of the Royal Canadian Legion~ Mount Dennis Branch #31 since 2000, Don also carried forward his family’s legacy with the Masons through his father, Roy. A talented poet and actor, Don was involved with the “Couples Club” at Willowdale United Church and was a self-taught enthusiast in various disciplines such as psychology and holistic health.
His career spanned 34 years at Suncor, where he rose to the position of Corporate Manager, Pension Administration before retiring in 1986. He later served as a Court Registrar for the Supreme Court of Canada, adding another chapter to his diverse and accomplished life. Don was proud to have completed everything on his Bucket List and was content with the life he lived.
A private family cemetery service will be held later this month. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s name can be made to Covenant House, Toronto, or a charity of your choice.

Keith Reid

With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Keith Reid. He left this world on October 10th, 2024. We will always remember him for his kind ways and adventurous spirit.
Keith leaves behind his loving mother, Joan Reid (Pete Reid - predeceased), his cherished daughter Arianna Reid (Sarah Senin and Cody Senin-Bergie), his beloved sister Lisa Little (Kevin, Katelyn and Ben Little), and his furry friend Zoe.
Keith was born at Port Perry Hospital on May 28th, 1974. He grew up in the rural community of Blackstock, Ontario, where his lifelong love of horses and country living began. Keith was a member of the Durham Pony Club for many years and represented Canada at the World Prince Philip Games in England.
After attending Port Perry High School, Keith earned his Farrier/Blacksmith degree with honors from Seneca College. He competed in numerous international competitions, winning many awards, and was a devoted coach, spending countless hours encouraging his students to excel.
Keith will be sadly missed by all and fondly remembered by family and friends.

Isabelle Marie Reine Guyett

Forever In Our Hearts, Isabelle Marie Reine Guyett (nee Emond), the beloved Matriarch of her family, passed peacefully at the age of 89 on October 8, 2024, surrounded by her children. Born in Lac-Ste-Marie, Quebec, on February 7, 1935, to Donné Emond and Marie Anne Sicard, Isabelle lived a full and generous life.
On September 20, 1954, Isabelle married the love of her life, Bernard "Bernie" Guyett, and together they enjoyed 67 wonderful years. The couple helped run the Continental Hotel in Arthur, ON, and soon started their family. Isabelle was deeply involved in her community, devoting time to the Catholic Church and the Breakfast Club. She also found joy in fiber arts, 5-pin bowling, curling, golf, and baking with her children and grandchildren.
Isabelle is survived by her brother Norman Emond (Marlene); her children, Mike, James, Linda (Eric), Ron (Kelly), Len, and Steve (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Kate, Christine (Dan), Ashleigh (Kyle), Matthew, Michael (Kristine), Jeffrey (Gaynelle), Jaime (Tyler), Jocelyn, and Elia; and great-grandchildren, Aislinn, Hannah, Chloé, Aaron, Alexandra, Sterling, Remi, and Brayden. She is reunited in peace with her husband Bernard; her brothers, Reg and Rudy; and her sister, Collette.
A memorial service will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 18th, followed by a reception.

GRAY, Fern Eileen Gray - 10-May-1936 - 5-Oct-2024
It is with celebration that the family is announcing that Fern Eileen May Gray (nee Glover) has graduated from this earth to Glory to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Fern passed away on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 88 years old. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Ken) Lowrie, sons Brian (Rita) and David (Katy). She is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica (David) Kennedy, Emma (Brent) Baggett, Abigail (John) Brant, Jonathon, Hannah, Zachary, James and Emily. She has met all four of her great-grandchildren Brodie, Caragh, Aoibhinn, and Brooke. She is survived by her sisters Pauline Meeks, Sylvia Emmett (Robert) and Donna Warder, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is predeceased by her husband and the love of her life for 66 years, Larry William Gray and her brothers William and Douglas Glover.
Fern had a servant’s heart and was faithful in her local church, Bible Club and Christian Camps. She was a natural student and teacher, was hospitable and always opened her home for family gatherings, Bible Club and Young People’s meetings. Her desire was that her children systematically studied the bible and encouraged children with Big Chocolate Bars to learn God’s word. She loved crafts, cake decorating, teaching and anything to do with children’s ministries. Her hearts desire was to have children and women study God’s word. She impacted many lives.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hillsdale Terrace for their care and support. Passed peacefully at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill, on October 3, 2024 in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband Glen, her brother Brian, and great granddaughter Jo. Loving mother of Kathleen, Kenneth (Mary Louise), Maureen, Andrea, Colleen (Gord), Shelia (Gary), and Theresa (Rob). Loved by her grandchildren Alex (Lindsay), Stephanie (Sarah), Cassie (Christian), William (Lena), Glen, Trevor, Sam, Walter, Adrienne (Ian), and Duncan. Beloved great grandmother of Frankie, Logan, Michael, Maverick, and Nicholas. Survived by her brother Father Jim and her sisters Patricia and Emma.
Marilyn will be resting at the Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby for visitation Monday, Oct. 7 from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is to be held at St. John the Evangelist Church (Giffard Street) on Tuesday, October 8th at 10:30am.

MUNT, Thomas Errol Munt - 9-Feb-1943 - 28-Sep-2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Errol Munt on September 28th, after a brave battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by love.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Beverley Munt. He was a cherished father to his children, Steve Munt and Suzy (Richard) Meadows, and a beloved poppa to his seven grandchildren: Jessica, Laura, Steph, Madison, Noah, Kassandra, and Carlyn and two great grandchildren Brooklynn and Isabelle . Each of them held a special place in his heart.
Known for his infectious smile and warm laughter, Tom had a remarkable ability to light up any room he entered. His genuine care for others touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Tom spent countless hours at the Whitby Curling Club, either on the ice or cheering passionately from behind the glass for his teammates and family.
A dedicated employee of CP Rail, Tom took great pride in training and mentoring many staff members, leaving a lasting impact on those who followed in his footsteps.
Tom Munt was truly one of a kind, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

COX, Sheila Anne Cox - 23-Oct-1946 - 1-Oct-2024
It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Sheila Anne Cox (Pagnutty) on October 1, 2024 after a hard battle with cancer.
Sheila is predeceased in death by her husband, Bob, Loving mother to Meredith (Chris), Stephanie, Julia (Sam). Dedicated and loving Grandma to Jamie, Dahlia, Will, Gavin, Ellie, Celeste and Matt. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Dolores and Lesley and Sister-in-Law Joanne as well as her many nieces, nephews and long time friends.
Growing up in Etobicoke Sheila attended Alderwood Collegiate and then went onto Atkinson school of nursing at Toronto Western Hospital. It was while nursing that she met her future husband and love of her life, Bob Cox who was studying to be a Dentist.
Sheila and Bob settled in Oshawa and spent the next 53 years raising a family and doting on their 7 beloved Grandchildren.
Sheila retired from nursing to focus on raising her family and in that time worked as an Educational Assistant in Oshawa schools where she was viewed as a dedicated and well loved member of the school community.
In retirement, Sheila and Bob loved to travel with their friends and saw many different parts of the world. Sheila’s most loved trips were to England to visit her oldest daughter and family.
Sheila always had a passion for music as a pianist and vocalist. She was an active member of her community and church.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held for Sheila on Saturday October 19, 2024 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home in Whitby from 1-4pm.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

LIZE, Ronald Cesar Lize - 15-Dec-1988 - 21-Sep-2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ronald Cesar Lizé Jr. who passed away September 21st, 2024 at the age of 35. Ronald was born December 15th, 1988. He will be dearly missed by his mom, Margret (nee Sidle) and dad, Ken Seymour. Ronald was predeceased by his father Ronald Sr.
He is also predeceased by his four grandparents Betty (nee Magee) Matche, Frank Sidle, Mary Harris, and Paul Lizé. Predeceased by his God father Raymond Laplante and his survived by his loving God mother Louise Laplante.
Ronnie will be forever missed by his sister Amber. His two beautiful daughters, Anaiah and Malaya will miss their dad greatly as they remember him with their mother Shelique. Ronnie never failed to leave an impact on anyone he met. He has a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will always remember and miss him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home in Whitby on Saturday October 12th, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a small service at 3:00 p.m.

It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Jesse Van Nest on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Judy (nee Horncastle). Loving father of Jesse (Sonia), Ryan (Kim) and Amy (Jeff). Proud grandpa of Owen, Madeleine, Mason, Sebastien, Eliana and Gwen. Dear brother of Brian (Pat) Van Nest and David Van Nest. He is predeceased by his parents Eileen and Jesse Van Nest and his brother Lionel Van Nest. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff at Oak Ridges Hospice for all the care and compassion given to Jesse during his time there.

Hercia, Steve, (retired GM employee of 33 years) passed peacefully with his family by his side after a short battle at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, September 26, 2024 in his 72nd year. Loving father of Natalie Hercia (Steve Cappellano) and Stephen Hercia. Proud Gigi of Trevor and Josie Cappellano. Dear brother of Dennis (Margaret) and their son Johnathan of Texas and Cathy (the late Ron Dancey). Cherished and fatherly uncle of Michael Dancey (Michelle and their son Wolfgang) and Robert Dancey. Predeceased by his parents Steve and Josephine Hercia. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends.
A special thank you to his friend Larry Jordan and the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Palliative Care for their wonderful care and support during this time. Also to all family, friends and neighbours who entertained him with their visits.
