It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sarah Lynne Lafrance announce her sudden passing on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the tender age of 24 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her parents: Sheila and the late Mike; her sisters: Connie (Shawn) and Lisa (Rich); Proud Grandmother: Wilma McGregor.

She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and Friends.

Sarah is predeceased by her Grandparents Bob McGregor, Rod Tinworth, Lucille Lafrance and Great Grandmother Joan Weales as well as aunts, uncles and special friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Cobourg Emergency Services, Police and Dr. Emery for your support and compassion during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21 Garrard Rd. Whitby, Ontario on Thursday, September 5th, 2024 from 12noon until the time of the Chapel service at 2pm. A reception will follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Durham Region Mental Heath Services or Durham Region Humane Society would be appreciated.

Sarah has left this world too soon and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We hope you have found your peace.

deceased-imgBROWN, Pearlene Brown - After a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and devotion, Pearlene Brown (née Hoilett) peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on July 31st, 2024, in her remarkable 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband, Percy Blagrove Brown, and son, Stanford Hermese Brown, she leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and a family who adored her.

Her children, Ray Llewellyn (wife Fanett), Janet Dunn (husband Kenneth), and Caroll Rattray (husband Dwain), were also the recipients of her boundless love and dedication. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was theirs. Five grandchildren (Abigail, Brian, Nicole, Steve, Sonnai) and seven great-grandchildren were also blessed to have her in their lives.

Pearl was the matriarch of her family, a pillar of strength, wisdom, and faith. Her home was a haven for family gatherings, filled with love, warmth, laughter, and delicious meals. Her love for the Lord Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She was an active member of the Toronto New Covenant Cathedral (TNCC), a Ministry of The Church of God of Prophecy, for over 50 years, where she joyfully served the community, and vibrantly supporting the various ministries of the church.

Her life was a testament to her strength, perseverance, and unwavering faith. We, her family, are grateful for the breadth and gift of her life and the precious memories she leaves behind. We invite you to join us as we celebrate her outstanding life, and honour her lasting impact.

Visitation will take place at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby, ON, on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at TNCC, 255 Blantyre Ave., Toronto, ON, on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. A final visitation will precede the service from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Interment will follow at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery. Following the formalities, friends and family will be invited back to the Mount Lawn Funeral Home Reception Hall for a time of fellowship and refreshments.

The family welcomes the gift of flowers and/or donations to the Alzheimer's Association in her honour.

Passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa two days shy of his 82nd birthday. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Brown) for almost 59 years. Loving father of Michelle (Rob) and Janine (George). Cherished grandfather of Tommy, Mollie, Quin, Bryson and Landon. Missed by sister in law Beryl, nieces, nephews and cousins, Predeased by siblings Peggy (Joe) and Kenneth.
Friends may call at the Mount Lawn Funeral Home for a Funeral Service in the chapel on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 11 am with a time of refreshment and fellowship to follow in the lounge. Cremation.

Passed peacefully at Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in his 61st year. Brad will be remembered by his wife Ruth, his mother Valerie, his brothers Don and Ken, his children Steven and Jennifer and his grandchildren Casey and Hana.

He will be remembered and missed by many friends and family. A private family service and cremation has taken place. Brad will be laid to rest in Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby, Ontario. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Canadian Lung Association in Brad’s honour.

Gayle Mary Mitchell peacefully passed away August 28th, 2024 surrounded by family at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville.

Gayle was born September 6th, 1945 in Oshawa Ontario to loving parents Ernie and Rose Kehoe who she is predeceased by. Gayle is now with her husband, Jim and her son Troy and her sister Pam.

She will be remembered by her children Kelly Burnett (Jeff), Rebecca Mitchell and her sister Bonnie Simcoe (Ron). Her grandchildren Sarha (Kyler), Jess (Trevor), Emily, Alyssa, Nicholas, and Liam will miss her
very much. Her greatgrandchildren Tyden and Tinsley will miss their Nana.

There will be a memorial service at Mount Lawn Funeral Home on August 31st, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. followed by an interment in Mount Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of Gayle.

Frances Joan Calder, passed away peacefully at Oshawa General Hospital at the age of 84 on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Alexander Calder (May 12, 2024). She is survived by her children Ellen (Joseph) and James (Cheryl). Beloved grandmother to Emily, Alexander, Sean (Nicole) and Andrew; great-grandmother of Evelyn. Beloved step-grandmother to Shanondoah (Shaun) and Daniel (Brianna).

She proudly supported St. George’s Anglican Church in the auxiliary, mentored and provided leadership through Brownies and Guides, and was an avid Bowler.

A special thank you to the staff of the ICU at the Oshawa General Hospital for their care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road (North of Dundas Street), Whitby.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in Frances’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Elderly man with glasses sitting indoorsPAVELIC, Zvonimir  -  With sadness in our hearts, we share the passing of Zvonimir (Zvonko) Pavelic at age of 97.

Passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on August 23rd.

He was the beloved husband of late Mirjana for almost 65 years.

Loving father of Sanja Kliska and her husband Zeljko, special Deda to Nemanja (Melainie) and Mladen Kliska, and Padeda to Simon and Evan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 21 Gerrard Road Whitby (647-699-6612) on Monday August 26th, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. and prior to the service on Tuesday August 27th, 2024 from 10-11 a.m.

A service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday August 27th, 2024 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow.

McINTOSH, Anthony Julian Donald McKintosh - (AKA Tony, Baloney, Dad, Babe, Grandpa, Papa, Coach T-Mac, GOAT) –

Tony made his final touchdown at 8:00pm on July 2, 2024. He spent his last days happy and peaceful at Sandbanks Beach.

His favourite place to be was by the water surrounded by his loved ones and favourite tunes.

Tony is survived by his fiancé, his parents, 6 children, his brother and sister, 8 grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and his extended football family whom he loved dearly.

In honour of Tony's love of the Steelers please wear black and yellow.

HAMILTON. Amy Hamilton - On Friday June 28th 2024, our dearly beloved Evangelist Amy Adina Hamilton (nee Robinson) was called to be with our Lord. She has passed on to join her predeceased children Hugh (d.2002), Deborah (d.2003) and her husband Gladstone Hamilton (d.2016).

She is survived by her daughters Pamela, Michelle (Lloyd), and son Everton (Camarsh). Her 11 grandchildren Tiffany, Sheldon, Trystin (Maria), Quentin, Tevon, Nathaniel, Kendall and Kenice. Also, 6 great grandchildren; Celeste, Alma, Elias, Eliseo and Huey. As well as so many loving nieces and nephews.

Amy was born in Beacon Hill, St. Thomas, Jamaica September 5, 1931. She courageously migrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada in January 1971. She began work immediately at Holy Family Personal Care Home to be able to send to Jamaica for her husband and children. She then worked at Park Manor Personal Care Home until her retirement in the1990s.

She was a founding member of The Bible Church of God and completed many years of evangelism for Christ. She was an exceptional cook and baker. She catered all the church banquets until leaving Winnipeg to help her son care for her grandchildren in Ontario.

Her service served us until her end. His grace is our strength.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

The family would like to extend appreciation to the hospital staff at Oshawa Lakeridge Health. Thank you to the congregations of New Born Church of God Ground of Truth and Truth and Life Worship Centre for your loving thoughts and prayers.

Services will be held at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, with the viewing Friday July 12, 2024 from 4-8pm. The funeral will be held Saturday July 13, 2024 at 10am.
