Glenna Joyce Kichko (Park)

October 17, 1947 - February 16, 2025

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Glenna Joyce Kichko (Park) on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 77 years. Glenna's courageous spirit left us quietly as she passed at Bowmanville Hospital.

A loving wife to Ray Kichko, a devoted mother to David, Andrea, and Darla, her daughter-in-law Eleanne, and a proud grandmother to Nicole, Abigael, Madison, Cameron, and Adele, Glenna’s legacy will continue to inspire her family and friends.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional nurses and medical team of Dr. Rafikov and Dr. Osbourne, as well as the unwavering friendship and support of Linda and Murray Taylor.

A Celebration of Life and interment will be announced at a later date, marking the beginning of a new chapter in honoring her remarkable life.

Sandra Lee Houde

January 4, 1960 – February 14, 2025

Today, February 14, 2025, on the day most filled with love, the Good Lord peacefully claimed my sweet angel,
to keep by His side until He calls me to claim her back.

May you rest in peace, Sandy. You will be remembered and loved forever.

Sandra was the beloved wife of Guy, and a devoted mother to Denis and Matthew.
She was a loving sister to Kathy Inwood and the late Daniel Wheeler, and a dear sister-in-law to Wendy Wheeler.
Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Obituary Overview

Passed away at Ajax Pickering Hospital on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 63.

Beloved mother of Melissa Ahlberg (Eric) and cherished grandmother of Seth and Haley Ahlberg. She was predeceased by her brothers Grant and David, as well as her parents, Art and Loryne Burgess.

Valerie will also be lovingly remembered by her brothers Ken Burgess (Sheila) and Don Burgess (Bev), her sisters Bev Bazak (Kevin) and Darlene Geisberger (Ron), as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. She was also dearly loved by her friend and companion, Ken Joli.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life and visitation will be held at a later date to be announced.

Leeanne Margaret Rauch (née Parker)

April 9, 1957 - February 18, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Leeanne Margaret Rauch (née Parker). At the age of 67, Leeanne passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.

Beloved wife of Edward Rauch for 35 years. A devoted mother to her four children: Stephen Parker (Leigh Olesco), Justin Sadiwnyk (Loren Lopez), Kyle Rauch, and Amanda Rauch (Kevin Mills). Cherished grandmother to her only granddaughter, Alexandra Lopez.

Leeanne was the dear daughter of the late Jean Parker and the loving daughter of John Parker (Marjorie Parker). She will be fondly remembered by her brother Steve Parker (Nancy Parker), her nephews Jason, Brett, and Tyler Parker, and her aunt Darla Lowery (Lloyd). She shared a special bond with her cherished friend Rod Doris and her beloved German Shepherd, Molly.

Leeanne bravely battled cancer for five years, facing each challenge with unwavering strength and determination. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A special thank you to Lorna Power, an exceptional nurse, and to Dr. Edward Osborne for their outstanding care and support.

 

Dorothy Edna Stark

March 5, 1930 - February 16, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Edna Stark announces the passing of a beautiful, strong soul on Sunday, February 16, 2025, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s.

Predeceased by her husband John. Loving mother to Terry (Donna), Sue (Robert), and the late Wayne. Sister of John (Yvonne) and sister-in-law of Mary. Grandmother of Amanda, Christopher, Paul, and Jamie, and great-grandmother to Emily, Thomas, James, Everly, Harrison, Levi, and Hazel. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

As per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held.

Arrangements entrusted to Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville.

 

Gwendolyn Cole

August 18, 1940 - February 11, 2025

In Loving Memory

In memory of Gwendolyn Clare Cole (née Dobbin), born August 18, 1940, in Newfoundland.

Gwen experienced a fall in July 2024, which led to surgeries, rehabilitation, and other health challenges, including cancer, which she bravely faced until her peaceful passing on February 11, 2025, at the age of 84.

Gwen leaves behind a legacy cherished by family and friends alike.

She is survived by her loving sisters Bonnie and Ann (Rob); brothers Martin (Anita) and Michael (Wilda). She was predeceased by her brother Pat and her parents, Marie and Luke.

Beloved aunt to Kristine (Scott), Sherene (Joe), and Tammy. Forever remembered as "G.G." by her great-grandchildren Keirnan, Kellan, Deaglan, and Teyla. Dear great-aunt to Ryan (Destiny).

Gwen, along with her parents and brother Pat, immigrated from Newfoundland to Toronto in 1944. At the young age of 18, after the passing of her parents, she took on the role of caregiver and raised her siblings with strength and unwavering love.

"The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life had on her; but the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes."

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

At Gwen’s request, no services will be held at this time. A future date will be set for a Celebration of Life.

Alexander George MacLellan

May 8, 1935 - February 11, 2025

In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alexander George MacLellan, who passed away peacefully at Glen Hill Strathaven on February 11, 2025, at the age of 89.

Alex was the beloved husband of Edna, a devoted father to Michelle (Kurt) and Dennis (Rose), and a cherished stepfather to Mike (Rhonda) and Kristen (Randy). He was a loving brother to Deborah, Brian, and Kevin, and was predeceased by his sisters Evelyn and Anne. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Margo. A proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, Alex’s love and wisdom will live on through his family.

A man of great intellect and wit, Alex had a distinguished career at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. His passion for sports led him to coach the college curling team, guiding them to two Ontario Championships—a testament to his love for the game.

Alex’s service to his country was a source of great pride, having served in the Canadian Navy in the engineering branch. His discipline, hard work, and loyalty carried over into every aspect of his life.

A lifelong Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Lions supporter, Alex never wavered in his devotion to his teams. His sharp mind and dry humor were his trademarks, endearing him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Alex leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Forever in our hearts.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Alex's life will be held at a later date.

WRIGHT, Ronald Wright

January 17, 1928 - January 25, 2025

Passed away on January 25th, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, at the age of 97.

Dear father of Jayne Wright, loving Papa of Candice & Tyler (Jaime), great-grandfather of Kayne, Westyn, Jade & Lily, & brother of the late Dorothea Carswell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Asthma Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, in memory on Ronald.

 

WHEELER, Kathryn Wheeler

March 8, 1946 - January 25, 2025

Surrounded by love, Kathryn Wheeler peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on January 25, 2025, at the age of 78.

Beloved wife of 57 years to Bill, she was the cherished mother of Debbie (Shane) and Bill (Tara). Kathy was a devoted and proud Grandma to six grandchildren: Geoffrey, Stephanie, Lee, Jamie, Jessica, and Ava.

She will also be deeply missed by her treasured sister, Terri (Kim), and sister-in-law, Linda.

Kathy found great joy in her garden, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.

Kathy dedicated many years to Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, where she worked as a receptionist in the X-ray department. She loved connecting with people and found great fulfillment in helping others.

In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in her memory.

Passed away at Hope Street Terrace Long Term Care, Port Hope on Sunday January 26, 2025 at the age of 91 years.

Beloved wife of the late George Gibson. Dear mother of Grant (Theresa) Gibson and Andrea (Marcel) Barette. Loving Grandmother to Stephen (Rachel), David (Lauren), Cameron (Jennifer), Makenna, Arynne. Loving great-grandmother to Callan, Wesley, Vivienne and Rub53 Division Street Bowmanville.
