October 18, 1937 - October 30, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Frank Salmonds announces his passing on October 30, 2024, at the age of 87, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Born on October 18, 1937, to Frank D. Salmonds and Mazie Salmonds, Don was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with loved ones.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, Nancy May Salmonds, and his children Jim (Lorna), Frank, and Kerri (Craig). Don was a proud grandfather to Christopher, Danielle, Ryan, Jacob (d. 2021), Dawn, Jason, and Jamie, and a cherished great-grandfather to Charley, Savannah, and Jacob. He is also survived by his younger brothers Ken and Jim Salmonds, and was predeceased by his sister Patricia Hapgood (d. 2019).

Don’s life was filled with family adventures, from weekends at the trailer with Jim and Kerri’s families to trips abroad to visit Frank. His family was at the heart of all he did, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A private service will be held, followed by burial at Bowmanville Cemetery on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
