COULTHARD, Shirley Anne Margaret Coulthard - September 17, 1942 – September 17, 2024
On September 17, 2024, on her 82nd birthday Shirley Anne Margaret Coulthard passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Shirley is survived by her loving and cherished husband, Keith, daughters, Angela and Cathy (David White), and her most cherished grandsons, Matthew, Cooper and Wyatt, her sister Doris Coates, sister-in-law, Doreen McIntosh, and many loved nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Reginald (Reggie) and Bertha McIntosh, and her brother Donald (Don) McIntosh and brother-in-law, Murray Coates.
To honor Shirley’s wishes, there will be a private committal service for immediate family members only. We invite you to celebrate Shirley’s memory privately please in your own ways. We know that she will be with us all in spirit, no doubt wishing to chat about the Blue Jays, or how proud she is of her family, most specifically her grandsons, Matthew, Cooper, and Wyatt.
The family wishes to express extreme gratefulness to Nurse Emily, in the G9 wing at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Emily’s unrelenting kindness, compassion, professionalism, and care was vital for Shirley and the family. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Lakeridge Health Oshawa for this reason.

MCALINDEN, Rita McAlinden - September 7, 1946 – September 15, 2024
Our beautiful mum, Rita McAlinden born September 7, 1946, passed away suddenly on September 15, 2024.
Born in Scotland, Rita was the youngest of eight and is survived by her loving sister, Marjory Rooney and brother Edward Craw.
On October 29, 1966, Rita married the love of her life, Charlie, and their story began. They immigrated to Canada to start building their new life. Always hardworking and dedicated to giving her family a life filled with love, and laughter.
Rita was a loving and devoted mother to Brian (Teresa), Elaine (Ossama), Kevin (Kim), and Andrea (Frank). She was an incredible grandmother to Connor, Liam, Jalil, Rhiannon, Nicolas, Ethan, Hannah, Nolan, Rachael, Julia, and Sophia.
She had worked hard in all aspects of her life and was passionate about her work in sales, a role that suited her charismatic and engaging personality. Rita could start a conversation with anyone, anywhere and had the natural ability to make you feel so comfortable around her, like you had known her forever.
She was kind, generous and thoughtful, always thinking of others, whether it was to lend a helping hand, an ear to listen, be your protector, a cheerleader or advocate. She was the essence of a pure and beautiful soul whose only intention was to love and care for people. She will be remembered for the joy she brought to others throughout her life, especially her children and grandchildren.
Of all the roles in her life, the ones she treasured the most were being a loving mother and ‘Gran’. She was adored by all of us, each having our own place in her heart, and there was always room for us all- she made sure we knew it and felt it too.
Rita will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her bright light when she entered the room and her comfort food! We could not have asked for a better human to guide us through our lives with such grace and will miss her every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

SEARS, LeeAnne Marie Sears - July 16, 1965 – September 13, 2024
Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday September 13, 2024 at the age of 59 years. Beloved mother of Marissa, Nicholas and Isabelle, and stepmother to Zander and Ethan. Dear daughter of Carmen and Frank Sears. Sister of David (Robin), Christopher and Jason (Jennifer). Cherished aunt of 6 nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her best friend Susan, her many friends, especially her precious dog Oscar. LeeAnne will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul whose smile radiated towards all the people who knew her. She taught Yoga and Pilates for many years, and was a supporter of the metastatic Cancer Support Group at Hearth Place.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

SHERIDAN, Margaret Elizabeth Sheridan - September 11, 1951 – September 12, 2024
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Margaret Elizabeth Sheridan on September 12, 2024, in Oshawa, Ontario, at the age of 73. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 50 years, Robert. She is survived by her children Christie Sims (Dave), Kim Holmes (Kevin), Mark Sheridan (Shanna), and Matthew Sheridan, as well as her cherished grandchildren Megan, Kara, Samantha, Emily, Mackenzie, Brayelle, and Beckett. She is also remembered by her brother Barry Loudon (Dianna). Margaret was predeceased by her parents William and Jessie Loudon (née McDonald) and Brother Colin Loudon and Billy Loudon.
Born in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1951, Margaret settled to Canada in April 1957. She had a vibrant spirit and treasured time spent with family, particularly her grandchildren. Margaret had a passion for travel, with Las Vegas being one of her favorite destinations, where she enjoyed trying her luck at the casinos. She was a devoted Beatles fan, eagerly following their tours and staying informed about their whereabouts. Margaret had a fondness for purses, shopping, and sweets.
Margaret will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

GAMBLE, Fergus William Gamble - March 18, 1949 – September 6, 2024
Fergus Gamble died on September 6, 2024 following decline related to Alzheimer’s disease. Born March 18, 1949, to parents Adrian and Cicilia Gamble in England, arriving earlier than expected in a rare blizzard. Shortly afterward his family emigrated to Canada in May of that year, arriving by boat on the RMS Empress of France. He and his family lived first in Richmond hill, then Willowdale and then finally settling in Toronto, Ontario where he grew up.
Fergus attended Crescent School, Upper Canada College and Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute. Fergus graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic (now Toronto Metropolitan University) in 1971. Fergus met his wife of 45 years, Susan Gamble (nee Adams), who had just emigrated from England, through her sister Jill (who was employed by Fergus’s father) and they quickly became a pair. Fergus and Susan married in 1971 and had their first child, son Thane in 1973, and their second child, daughter Megan in 1976. They lived in Bayview Village until after their retirement, moving to Ballantrae retirement community. His wife Susan sadly passed in 2017 following several bouts of cancer. Thane is married to his wife Jennifer Murphy, Thane is proud father to Fergus’s grandson Owen Gamble, and step father to Owen and Brenna W. Megan is married to her husband Paul and they have two sons Noel, and Reid. Fergus is also survived by his two sisters Frances Darlington and Irene Ferguson.
Fergus and Susan worked in the market research field together for many years and then helped form their own company Vantage Research, which then merged with another colleague to become Dadson Vantage and this evolved into Radix Market Research which they sold upon their retirement.
Fergus was an avid fan of classical music, being involved in the Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra for many years, and the game of golf which he has played at courses all over Ontario, the United States and the United Kingdom. He also enjoyed many years of scuba diving in the Caribbean. Fergus and his wife enjoyed travelling together, and were proud of visiting all seven continents in their journeys all over the world. Fergus has had a life-long love of cars, tools and fixing things. Fergus had a great interest in world events and politics and enjoyed discussing these at length and reading about the world and important events in history.
Fergus will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

MCCABE, Margaret Jean Leslie McCabe - February 10, 1935 – September 9, 2024
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Margaret Jean Mccabe, at the age of 89 years. Jean was an absolutely beautiful woman, both inside and out. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she blessed.
Jean was a successful entrepreneur, spending 20 years running herself established family business, "McCabe's Cheese Nook", in Bowmanville. She was later joined by her daughter Pam, and they ran the business for the last 5 years together. Above all, Jean was selfless and kind-hearted. She was always thinking of others and making them feel welcome. Every time you visited you were immediately asked if you were hungry and welcomed in with open arms. She is a beautiful soul.
Jean was very creative. Always knitting, quilting, and perfecting her gardens. She enjoyed golfing and watching sports on TV during her evenings with Doug.
Jean was the loving and devoted wife of her late husband Doug McCabe. Pre-deceased by her parents Marjorie and Leslie Atkinson, and her son, Frank. Jean was also the beloved mother of Pam (+John), Wendy (Brian), and Donna (Kevin). She was the proud grandmother of Brett (Kandas), Candace, Colin (Ashley), Michelle (Cory), Ken, Robb (Noelle), and Krystyna (Tyler). Jean also cherished her great grandchildren Eastyn, Tyson, Arya, Karson, Peyton, Atlas, Aurora, Paxton, Evan, Maykayla, Audryna, Amari and Emerson. She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, businesswoman, and friend.
Her departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the memories and everlasting love we shared.

Beloved husband of Ann. Loved son of Jack and Erkie. Loving father of Kurtis (Erin), Melissa (John), Kole (Mikayla) and predeceased by Anthony. ELIK, Jeff Elik - May 24, 1962 – September 2, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Jeff, a beloved husband, Dad, son, brother and friend. Jeff passed on September 2, 2024 at the age of 62 with all his family and furbaby by his side. He was a man of significant strength, kindness and love. He lived by the values he cherished most – family, loyalty, honesty and integrity. Jeff’s passion for truck driving developed into a career of over 35 years, meeting people all over North America. His hard work touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was particularly fond of his extended family at Mosport (CTMP) who gave him the opportunity to continue talking to different people when he retired from truck driving.
Jeff’s talents were many and he could be a master at everything he put his mind to. Though he has left this world, the love and memories he created with those closest to him will live on forever.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife and best friend, Florence. Devoted and loving Dad of Cassandra (Daniel), Brittany (Steven) and his furbabies Mandy and Rupert. Cherished grandfather of Mason. Dear son of the late Bo and Jackie Elik.
Jeff will be sadly missed by his brothers Edward (Wendy) and Marty (Kelly), his sister Jessica and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
