Francis Emil Lackey

June 15, 1942 – December 30, 2024

Francis (Frank) Emil Lackey passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Beverley (nee Smith) and son Derek (Rachel) of Trenton, ON. Grandchildren Isaac, Kayla and Alexandra. Sisters Loretta Mills, Maryann Ottawa of Maniwaki, QC, Donna Takaki (Fred) of Kingsville, and sister-in-law Lenore Hardy, brothers-in-law Ron Smith (Nancy) and Tom Smith (Phyliss) of Es. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Predeceased by his father William J. Lackey (1965) and his mother Elizabeth (nee Deschryver, 1998), stepfather William A. Hardy (1995) and brother William T. Hardy (2024). The family wishes to thank Dr. Burgess and all the paramedics who provided support and care during Frank’s illness.

Arrangements entrusted to Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell St., Leamington (519-326-2631). Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a future date (to be announced). If you so choose, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Barbara MacLean

January 26, 1937 – December 10, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara MacLean (nee Brooker) on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at AgeCare Royal Oak, Kingsville. Barbara was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend, whose memory will forever be cherished.

Barbara was the devoted wife of the late Arnold (2018). She is predeceased by her parents, Lewis (1968) and Alberta (1984) Brooker, her sister Lorraine Haggins (2010), and brother-in-law Allan Haggins (2005). She will be greatly missed by her sister, Darlene Kohuch, and her husband, Ken, along with her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A retired teacher and an avid gardener, Barbara also loved music and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Her kind heart and dedication to her family and community will be remembered by all. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at AgeCare Royal Oak, Kingsville, for their excellent care over the years.

Cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Deborah Morency, aged 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 27, 2024. She was the cherished mother of the late Dianna Morency (2017) and her husband Paul VanDendiepstraten, and Christopher “Chrisser” Morency. Loving Grandma of Kaitlyn, Coty, and Jamie Morency, and dear great-grandma to Kaylee, Jeffrey, and Zoey. Deborah was the beloved daughter of the late Gerald and Dorothy Hennin (nee Gerald) and is predeceased by her siblings Susan Caza (late Dave) and David Brian Hennin.

She is survived by her siblings Michael, Stephanie, Jason, John, Maria, and Jenny, and will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Deborah's kind spirit, warm smile, and love for her family will always be remembered.

Visitation will be held at Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell St., Leamington, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 219 Sacred Heart Drive, Windsor, ON.

Cornelia “Cory” Boudry, aged 95, passed away peacefully at the Leamington Mennonite Home on November 25, 2024. She was the beloved wife of 35 years of the late Mike (1986) and a cherished mother to Kathleen Shepley (Brian), Sandra Iles (Gary), Linda Manzocco (late Eddy), and Michael Boudry (Nellie).

A private graveside service will be held to honor Cory’s wishes. Memorial donations in her name may be made by cheque to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Leamington Mennonite Home for their exceptional care over the last decade.

Josephine "Jo" Evans (Tilley)

June 21, 1928 – November 22, 2024

On November 22, 2024, Josephine "Jo" Evans passed away peacefully, relieved of all illness and pain, at the age of 96. She was a remarkable woman who devoted her life to her community, family, and faith. Jo is survived by her loving daughter Pamela and predeceased by her birth parents Joseph Murray and Maude Tilley Murray, her adoptive parents Frank and Mabel Tilley, and her sister Mae Tilley Lokar.

Jo began her career in banking in Leamington, Ontario, and spent 30 years in Detroit, Michigan, rising to Assistant Vice President. After retiring early due to illness, Jo dedicated another 30 years to volunteer service, supporting organizations like St. John’s Anglican Church, Leamington Hospital, Blood Clinics, Lions Club, and Special Olympics. Her dedication earned her numerous accolades, including Citizen of the Year (twice), Volunteer of the Year, the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award, and Honorary Membership in the Lions Club.

Despite battling cancer three times, recurring heart failure, arthritis, and dystonia affecting her eyes for over 40 years, Jo faced every challenge with strength and grace. She valued teamwork, friendships, and making a difference in her community, always ready to help someone in need.

A memorial service celebrating Josephine’s extraordinary life will be held at Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington, Ontario, on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Teresia Nehmetallah

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Teresia Nehmetallah, who departed this world peacefully in her home on November 9, 2024, at the age of 89. Teresia was surrounded by the love of her devoted family in her final moments. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Nehmetallah Nehmetallah, her devoted son, John Nehmetallah, and her dear grandson, Tony Badaoui.

Teresia was a loving mother to Joseph (Hasna), Haifa (Assaad) Badaoui, Renee (Joseph) Abbas, Laurice (Paul) Tawil, Jim (Diane), Diane (Fred) Boutros, the late John, and Heidi (Tony) Nader. Her legacy lives on through her 29 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, each of whom she held close to her heart. She was predeceased by her parents, Youssef and Najiba Abbas, and was a beloved sister to her late siblings, Antonious (Shahide), Hannah (Antonios), Saleh, Suzanne (Antonios), Boula, Alice (John), and survived by Saide (Youssef) and Bernadette (Nazir).

Known for her deep faith and gentle spirit, Teresia’s steadfast devotion to God and family was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared abundantly.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Teresia’s life at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Monday, November 11, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m., with prayers at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, November 12, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 280 Talbot Street East, Leamington, with entombment to follow at Erie Memorial Gardens.
