With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Charalene Mackie on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Norfolk General Hospital, at the age of 76.
Charalene was the beloved wife of the late Andy Mackie and a loving mother to Jennifer (John), Don (Nathalie), James (Shannon), Michael (Len), and Charles (Candice). She was a proud “Grummy” to Justin, Chloe (Gustavo), Claire, Avery, and Andrew, and a doting “Bubye” to great-grandchildren Charli and Xavier.
Charalene was a dear sister to Maureen (the late Lou) Colombe, Colenna (Terry) Carter, Georginna (Al) Radmore, Sean (Anne) O’Malley, and the late Michael O’Malley. She will also be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Charalene was a proud former member of Waterford Legion Branch #123 and cherished her time with the community.
In accordance with Charalene’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson-Mott Funeral Home.
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Debra Simon at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the age of 70. Debra was surrounded by her family during her final moments.
Debra was the loving mother of Rob and Alicia (Ryan), and a dearly loved sister to Jim (Ann), Sandra Marcotte, Wade, Judy Anstee, Jeffrey, Abby (Walt), and Daryhl (Anna). She will also be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Mary Church.
Debra was a dedicated member of St. Bernard Parish and found great joy in quilting, pottery, baking, and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
Family and friends will be received at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Waterford Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Waterford Food Bank would be appreciated. Additionally, the family requests that those able to do so consider donating blood to their local blood bank in Debra’s memory.
