Suzanne Elizabeth Gagnon

March 12, 1963 - January 9, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Suzanne Elizabeth Gagnon after a two-year battle with cancer. Suzanne passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 9, 2025, surrounded by friends and family.

Suzanne is predeceased by her loving parents, Bill and Julia (Julie) Gagnon, and her brother Andrew (Bob McCreary, predeceased). She is survived by her first cousins Debbie Morrow, Tyyne Hogan (Peggy), Lisa Affi, Kathy Schnuerer (Peter), Ron Fournier (Isabelle), Graham Gagnon (Ruth), Kristine Cullin (Sean), and Karen Sutton (Darren). Suzanne will also be missed by her Aunt Barbara, Aunt Doris (Earle), Uncle Allen (Lilian), and Uncle Earl (Carole).

She leaves behind a lifetime of friends, including Pennie, Jack, Connie, Kimberly, Shelley, Donny, the Malleau and Lessard families, Bill, Marc, Carl, Pierre, Chris, Mary Margaret, Mary-Kay, Maralie, Lynn, and Caroline. Special thanks go out to her close neighbors Deb for looking after Star, and to Andrew, Carole, and Paul for their generous support and assistance during Suzanne’s time of need.

Born on March 12, 1963, in Sudbury, Ontario, Suzanne will be remembered for her generosity, kindness and joy for all things spiritual. She was always looking out for others, whether it be a sweater she saw at a garage sale (that she swore would fit so-and-so), or a rock she found on the beach that reminded her of the great day she had. Suzanne had a true love of nature and animals, especially her cats T.J. (predeceased) and Star . She had a way of bringing family and friends together and was the catalyst to keep all of us in touch.

Suzanne loved to travel. She visited the UK, Belize, California and the Bahamas as well as seeing Canada coast to coast on family adventures. Suzanne also enjoyed her time spent in Prince Edward County at Pennie’s summer home. Her days were filled with swimming, eating, playing games, eating, lounging, eating and relaxing.

Suzanne had many jobs over the years, but most noticeably was time spent at Mercer, where she was incredibly supported by her immediate supervisor, Ryan.

There will be a Celebration of Life for all her family and friends to participate in sharing memories and laughter, remembering a life well lived. This will be around the time of her Birthday in March - details to be determined.
Family and friends are invited to attend a grave-side service at Waters Cemetery in Lively at a later date.

If you cannot attend, please do Celebrate Suzanne with friends and coworkers as that was her wish, to have her life remembered in various Celebrations by those whom she loved and those that grew to know her.

Heart-felt gratitude to all the nurses, doctors and staff who treated Suzanne so well at the Princess Margaret Hospital and the Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital. We are grateful to Dr. Goldman for tending to Suzanne while at home, and to Dr. Myers for his incredible bed-side manner and gentle spirit in dealing with Suzanne and her family and friends during her stay on 10th floor of the Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter in Suzanne’s name.
