Rosa Lahaie (Gagnon)

1925 - November 14, 2024

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, a new star began to shine in the sky. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved "petite maman d’amour," Rosa Lahaie, at the age of 99. Rosa passed away peacefully at the Golden Manor in Timmins, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of the late Léo Lahaie and dear daughter of the late Emile Gagnon and the late Alice Allarie.

Rosa was a loving mother to Nicole (Jacques Lacroix) and Diane (Michel Talbot). She was an adored grandmother to Natalie, Renée, Éric, Marc, and Justin; and a proud great-grandmother to Émilie, Alexa, Nicholas, Patrick, Christopher, Julien, Jérémie, Janelle, Alec, Rosalie, and Annabelle. She will be deeply missed by her sister Huguette Saley and fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her siblings Armand (late Thérèse), Aurore (late Nelson), Rosaire (late Madeleine), Anita (late Léo Paul), Lucienne (late Gabrien), Laurent (late Georgette), and her younger sister Thérèse, Rosa was a strong and resilient woman who faced life’s challenges with courage and grace. Her happiest moments were spent with her family, and her love and guidance will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Golden Manor for their kindness, support, and unwavering devotion to Rosa's care.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society Timmins-Porcupine would be greatly appreciated.

We offer our deepest sympathies to Rosa’s family and friends. May her love and legacy provide comfort and strength during this time of loss.
